Hello everyone,

I live in Pennsylvania but am a huge Vols fan because of my family ties.

I have two daughters, 12 and 7 years old and I figure it is never to early to start "steering" them towards UT. :)

My oldest asked me what academic programs UT is known for and I didn't have an answer for her.

Is UT "known for" anything in particular academically?

Thanks for the help and GBO!!

They have a good communications program. At one point in my tenure there it was the largest non-business program on campus.

Supply Chain/Logistics

If I remember correctly the Nuclear Engineering program is in the top 5 nationally.

I started as a nuke engineering student then transferred into Marketing (which lean heavily on the supply chain/logistics aspect eventhough it was called Transportation at the time).

If I'd have then gone to vet school and focused on designing doghouse then I'd have had it covered :)

Don't think it's quite that high, but I do know we're in the top 3 in enrollment in NE and that our graduate program is 9th out of ~50 schools. The department has greatly benefited from UT's partnership with ORNL. I'm a UTNE grad student myself.

The NE program is one of the best kept secrets at UT. Most of those kids have jobs lined up by the middle of their junior year.
