Those are schools that seem to draw the attention of kids across the nation. UT is a school that has fans within the state and not much anywhere else. Our fan base is homegrown

I think Kiffin is changing that and UT will be a hot team nationally.

UT has fandom all over the country. They've had it for a long time now.

Any team that wins championships has a national fan base.

When we win championships again we will have a nat'l fan base.

virginia has a large number of ut fans...but we are definitely going to emerge as one of the cool teams that bandwagon fans love to jump on...i.e. miami, usc.

we already do have a national fan base. When you travel around it's actually pretty surprising

My former wife went to Europe on vacation one year and was in a small town in France. While walking around the local outdoor market she came upon a vendor that sold ball caps, and the first thing she noticed was a UT hat on his table. I thought how fantastic that was to have that cap way over there.

You are right but until we win again we will not attract the huge numbers of bandwagon fans that the gators or trojans currently have.

I think he means that our logo and swagger makes us cool. People are followers for the most part and that is why those schools sell so much merchandise. I lived in northern Mexico for several years and saw lots of Tennessee shirts and hats. (Honestly they didn't know the difference between us and the other UT). But yes, nationally I think we are being recognized. More so now than when we won the NC in 98. Besides our fan base people are watching us because of Kiffin.

Yah I remember in the late 90's ESPN taggin us as AMERICAS team. That always stood out to me then, and i think were on our way back to that status.:rock:

Much agreed. Here in the midwest, I see lots of "T" logos on cars and such. I see alot of Tennessee shirts and hats people are wearing, that some would be surprised to see in central Illinois.

I live in southern Ca. and see Tennessee stickers and tow hitches about 2-3 times a week on cars on the freeways. I think Tennessee has a big national following, you would have to think so or else ESPN wouldn't have them on T.V. almost every week.

I'd much rather be compared to USC than any of the others.
