UT a 4 point favorite in Gainesville

I share your wishful thinking, but they gotta prove it first. I couldn’t even buy a beer when we won there last. (Legally)
I completely understand, but thus year just feels different. Joey hasn't been a vol long enough to be affected by the Florida curse. I think our offense will put on a clinic and keep momentum on the orange sideline.

Easily the weirdest Florida-Tennessee game I can remember. Florida fans don’t care, Tennessee fans don’t trust.

I’ll say this; if TN doesn’t win this game in the Swamp, they’ll never win a game in the Swamp. Everything is set up perfectly for you; fan apathy in Gainesville, nobody is hyped at all, and the home environment is usually a huge advantage. Beleaguered roster - down top 3 WR’s, injury list has been about 12 deep all year. Beleaguered coaching staff, already positioning for future jobs, already packing offices and homes. Emotional loss at Ole Miss, rivalry game next week vs FSU, the whole program is fixated on the coaching search, etc. And TN brings a pretty damn good team to town. Should be a fairly routine win for TN.
YOU don't care. YOU aren't hyped. This is a NIGHT GAME in the Swamp against the Tennessee Vols. The game is sold out.
UF can troll OM fans about Kiffin leaving, and get ready to talk **** to Vol fans in the stands, in the same week.
UF isn't supposed to win. But it's a rivalry game! Anything can happen.

We're at the point in the year where Jeff Sagarin's Numbers start to be reliable. He has UT at #19 with an 83.45 rating, and UF at #33 at 78.91. "Strong recent" is 81.69 to 76.64. This does not take into account home field, which gives UF another 3 points both ways. So 83.45 to 81.91, and 81.69 to 79.64.

In his game predictions, he has UT at 30.64 to 27.05. Run them all together, and it's a field goal game. Has UT at 52% to win.

UF is at home. We have Max Gilbert. And Tim Banks. And Willie Martinez. And our 2 best DB's out.

I think UT is the better team, but has too many holes in the armor belt, and makes at least one critical error on offense. This is UGA 2.0

I'll be here Sunday morning for that crow omelet if I'm wrong.

I appreciate this post. Maybe the juices will start flowing a little later in the week as the game draws near.

Here’s some hopium for you gents on this fine Wednesday morning : Tennessee is gonna whip dat fanny Satdee night.

We have two bigtime reasons for optimism- One: Lagway likes to scramble and then get sacked and throw picks- and we like to sack QBs.

Two: our Oline will be able to push and we will have very solid running lanes - look for the big Freshman 70 to blow many a Dlineman way down the field- this means the JH forty burger offense is open for business.

I suspect this ends up being an easy cover as UT gets ahead and UF checks out. Only fans left in the 4th qtr are those of us singing Rocky Top loud and often.

I think we will beat the Gators, but if you gave me 15 points, I would not take it. Nope, not at the Swamp, where Gators eat our lunch year after year after year after decade.

I learned LONG ago not to ever bet anything on any Vols game for either team. I think it was the 95 game in the swamp, I did a hair vs. hair bet against a frat brother of mine before halftime. We were ahead 30-14. He bet the Gators would win by 14. We lost that game 62-37.

I remember that too. I was at work. Left we were up 30-21. Got home it was raining 🌧 like hell and we were getting blown out. Never saw the footage of what happened until I watched the game on YouTube many years later. Still a shocking memory in my young life...

I don’t normally bet on UT games bc I’m obviously biased, but I really like this spot for us. Wouldn’t be surprised if we win by 2tds or more.

I'll believe we win in the swamp when I see it. Florida is still playing hard and they are talented. Don't know what happened at Kentucky but the way they played Ole Miss certainly didn't look like a team that has quit.
I have seent it, with mine own eyes, in 03. was there, in the bowels of hades. we can do it.

prob won't but we can.

Hate this is a night game. Team lacks leadership, at key positions. No ONL or dog on defense.

cant run, cant stop em. not a good matchup.

hope for the best.

Every other play, we look loster than last year's Easter eggs. I see little chance that we suddenly become a solid team. We have the talent on Offense but I fear that UF has nothing to play for except getting their anger out. I see them teeing off on our receivers on every play trying to injure them. Even if we win, we lose. I've watched us wilt like wet toilet paper at the slightest adversity when we play Florida. This team, especially our defense, would do the same this year. This game goes 1 of 2 ways.... One team boat races the other. I don't see this being close. Either Florida starts beating the brakes off us and we quit or the exact opposite happens.
It will be a close game. Bet your life on it.
