I think everyone is cautious due to the way we finished the season and have so many new coaches. I for one think the game will be close n feel ncst will be ready to play.

The vols are unproven.

I think we'll run the ball all over them throughout the game mixing in a bunch of play action passes to CP and Hunter.

I think our OL feels like they have some unfinished business with establishing our running game; I believe they will do their part of it.

I'm in Raliegh working now and I am scared. But I do think we win but will not put up 40+ our offense isn't that high powered any more. Hunter and CP are still unproven they have a lot of potential but then can easily not be what we expect. If we win its going to be on our running game.

They have a very solid team and defeated some solid teams to end the season . I'm gona say Tennessee by a touchdown ! Our Defense worries me . First game with a new scheme and NC state does a lot of shifting screens, hb/fb flat routes that might hurt us if we get too aggressive

i honestly am hoping for a slow start from both sides and my reasoning is this...

i always feel the excitement going into these big games (like FL last year) and then something happens where we dig ourselves into a hole. I wouldn't mind about 6 or so runs and 2 or so screen passes in the first two drives to settle bray and co. down and get them feeling comfortable in the dome.

anyone else with me?

I was scared yesterday when Tennessee allowed Cali to score 10 in the 6th to pull even, changed the channel, and Goodletsville put up 9 in the extra period. Man, what a game! Don't be scared. Vols win by 4.:)

Little league World series. If some didn't know.

Honestly, I'd like to come out firing like the Cincinnati game. Playing from behind has not been a strong point of ours since Dooley's been in charge.

I dunno. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bray sling it downfield to Hunter to get the crowd jazzed. They will be all over Hunter... who can highjump over them and bring it down. I'll bet the O has practiced a surprise opening drive package. I can't wait to see what we have. I believe this is a different team.

But you can't really blame the media for their dismissal. Our last game was UK and it's a "what have you done lately?" world. I hope we give them a lot to talk about.

These Vegas guys know their stuff and I don't think it will likely change. All should note some have NCS winning or competing for the ACC this year. So a BCS conference contender versus a 3 or 4 projected finisher in the SEC ( no matter who it is) is a sign of conference respect.

I AM putting money where the mouth is and clunking down $200 on my beloved Vols. I think the risk reward on this line is a good one.

Just my 2 cents that hopefully generates a couple Benjamin's......

Even after Da'Rick's dismissal, we are still favored on betus.com. We are favored by a field goal. Everything I've read has detailed the game as an extremely even matched. I wonder if it'll change by friday.
We are barely a 500 team based on last years performance.

This, cone out score early and often, all game long. I don't care if they put 80 on the board, I'll still be watching.

Why do people see this game similar to cincy? A. We are not at home, we play like **** in the Ga dome. 2nd their d is way better than cincy. Funny how people think we are just going to blow them out

Their secondary is better than cincy, DL would be a push, their lb's are definitely inferior to cincys.

Regarding our offense. It's still high powered but I think DR out takes away 7 points a game.

Our competitive strength has taken a big hit with the loss of Rogers. We were to be a passing team, and he was our best receiver. Our offense suddenly looks far less dangerous. Hunter is young, still relatively inexperienced and coming off a major knee injury. Patterson is a complete unknown at this level. And everybody else in the WR corp. is either completely inexperienced or only moderately good. Few people want to acknowledge it, but this is the equivalent ov losing Hunter last year.

Till we beat a quality opponent...I'm surprised we'd be favored by anyone...

BTW...my prediction for Friday WAS 45-13 prior to Da'ByeBye

Now it's just 28 -13, so we should cover...

Kinda like O'Brien's hat...

Serious question here. Before the DR incident, you guys made it sound like all three of your starting wr's were going to be very good. I understand DR is the most proven of them all, but he is still just 1/3 of the three "first round draft pick" wide receivers. Therefore, you still have two more than 99% of the other D1 schools. How come a lot of you are making it sound like your strength has now been completely neutralized?

No doubt that Da'Rick brought SWAG to the WR Corps...and was the leading receiver in the SEC last year...his loss hurts...

Then there's the Dome (I've left there too many times in the last 15 years disappointed)

But we still will beat you like red-headed, floppy hat wearin' giraffe quarterbackin'...over rated defensive backin'...ACC "also-ran"...like we should.
