but this program is TOAST for many years to come! The level of ineptitude from the VERY TOP on down in regards to this football program over the last 15 plus years has burned this program to the ground! Totally self inflicted! This administration has absolutely ABUSED this fan base. The whole situation makes me sick!

I mean we are fixing to get penalized for cheating all while we sucked on the field. It's one thing if we had something to show for it but another to still suck while cheating. I feel like we should get a stimulus check from the AD for all the misery they put us through over the last 15 years

Yes! I'm telling you right now...there has been a shift. The powers that be in admin want this University to be known for it's academic prowess FAR MORE than anything that takes place on that football field. Vanderbilt of the east! I'm out.

Where are you “out” to? Are you gonna be a Bama fan now?

It takes one hire to get things right. Just one guy even with reduced scholarships, if Tennessee does well in the state of Tennessee recruiting next year we could hang in that .500 range until 2024 and things could really take off. I think if they pull Napier, Freeze or Fickell were going to be fine. Even with Steele well be better than under Pruitt.

Would love to have Freeze...but this admin isn't about to stick their neck out on his behalf! I'm telling you...."academics" is their focus now, not big time football success.

And still listen to the talking head play by play people espousing the virtues of the targeting rule? No thanks. As passionate as I once was for this program, I will be up all hours of the night putting my emotions into something else like Aussie rules that doesn't kick players out for that nonsense. Actually, I will DVR it to watch as I please. Takes awhile to grow accustomed to it, but it beats the Hell outta this.

Focusing on academic performance is such a waste! What are these school administrators doing? This is a football program, not an institute of higher learning!

So, does that mean if we hire a good coach, we only give him a couple of years before we start calling for his head?

I've been as "diehard" and supportive as anyone for 30 plus years. I've missed weddings, been late to more "events/engagements" than I care to mention, and taken more ass chewings from my wife over my refusal to miss the "TN game" than you could imagine....but enough is enough! This program has lost a lot more than games, recruits, coaches, and players....they've lost a TON of fans just like myself.

I''l say this...life's short...do you want to support and get behind a winner or a loser? The last 17 plus years shows what this program is now. Enjoy!
I was born and raised in Knoxville. I'm a VFL so I'll be supporting the Vols no matter what happens.
