USE the MIDDLE of the FIELD!

When you're marginal at throwing it, cant protect and have trouble beating man coverage, throwing it in the middle of the field is an awful idea.

The opposite. If a QB can't throw it long he's only supposed to throw screens? If Dobbs can't hit a slanting wr 7yds downfield then he shouldn't be a QB. But he can and has. Dobbs could be a fine QB for us if the coaches would put him and our offense I'm better positions to be successful, but they don't.

Praying we will see a lot of trickery/ wrinkles in the Offense this week. I hope, and expect, Butch to coach the game of his life this week. He knows how important this one is.

He didn't do it against UF last year or oklahoma this year. Butch is not the kind of coach to make big changes. He follows a process that he believes in. I respect that out of him and think it's ultimately good but it lomits his ability/willingness to be flexible. I expect more of the same, just hope it works...

That's not an excuse to never do it at all. The only time we throw is to Ethan Wolf up the seam and that's quite rare.

Hey, how about a 25 yard post to Von Pearson or freakin Marques North? Or send Jalen Hurd inside on a quick slant on a 3rd and 5 situation?

I agree with OP, it needs to happen.

There is a reason Dobbs wasn't the starter last year. He struggles throwing down the field, thus limiting the passing playbook. He does everything else well. I'm not ripping him. Plus, it'd be hard for Peyton to throw consistently down and across the middle of the field with the pressure opposing teams have put on Dobbs.

He'll progress through the year and be better next year, as the offensive line will.

Worley was a better player than he is credited for. He was a pretty decent passer and had a nice touch. Not his fault he was on his back more than an Bama cheerleader. He still made boneheaded decisions at times but every quarterback does.
