USCw and the Real McCoy

I tend to think this is accurate b/c it's USC officially commenting on this and wouldn't be surprised if our folks worked w/ USC (who could probably care less at this point) to put pressure on NCAA? I took this as a positive to expedite the process. HOPE!

They essentially called the NCAA out and said it was on them. If true then the NCAA needs to clear him. If false then someone from the NCAA needs to have a serious heart to heart with the USC AD.

Surely we gained some connections within the NCAA from us recently serving them Pruitt on a silver platter in reguards to their investigation. We made their job easy....they owe us. Danny White needs to call in a favor.

Don't bank on it. I don't think it is the NCAA having something out with us or Bru McCoy, I just think it is an issue with the NCAA being a bureaucratic nightmare of an organization that cannot make quick decisions.

I agree. Certainy no inside information but have a feeling it's being held up by NCAA rather than USC now. .

whew! At least they are talking! I don't believe USC would say they are not holding up his release if they are not! Now I think it's squarely in the hands of NCAA and they need to take immediate action! If they do, he'll be cleared this week!

From Outkick:
According to sources, there were two routes this situation could have gone:
  • USC could have signed off on a No Participation Opportunity Form to allow McCoy to be eligible immediately, or…
  • If USC didn’t sign off, Tennessee would need to file a waiver with the NCAA, with cooperation from the USC program, a process UT has already started.
OutKick reached out to USC for further comment regarding the athletic administration signing the NPO form and allowing McCoy to be immediately eligible. OutKick specifically asked if the AD had any intention of signing the form.

In their response to OutKick, the school said that they had nothing else to add regarding the situation, ‘Beyond the statement I provided you yesterday’.

USC was dragging their feet, being A holes, doing nothing. UT filed with the NCAA. USC started getting blown up on social media for being A holes. They issued that statement to chill the heat on them. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. USC was protecting the USC brand, and now that protection might include cooperating. Trey Wallace with Outkick thinks we should know something sooner than later.

Ok on USC and NCAA. Have we received Saban’s blessings or approval from his puppet in the SEC Office yet? That is usually where our delays happen. Maybe we are awaiting that signature from Tuscaloosa.

Why do we go through this every year? Year after year I see Ohio State and Alabama tranfers declared eligible before fall camp begins, yet UT is always last.

Went through the same crap with Cade Mays, Tiyon Evans, and Aubrey Solomon. Why are we surprised?

I don't understand why its "too late" to sign the NPO.

I bet the NCAA would happily accept a form in lieu of going thru their own painstaking process. Their limited manpower is what they commonly claim takes so long. They will have to review his transcripts, records of participation, the whole case file from when he was suspended, etc. If getting the signed NPO from USC would alleviate them of having to review his file, then I would be willing to bet they would happily put his file in the cabinet and move on.

If someone could enlighten me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Lincoln Riley is a snake. The dude poached from OU before the ink was dry on his contract. I think Lincoln will be exposed as a fraud over the coming seasons. He had the luxury of Bob Stoops and his players. Spencer Rattler was Lincoln's guy, so if that is any indication of the type of talent he recruits then USC will continue to USC. Wouldn't be surprised if he is knee deep in the Bru issue out of spite for losing talent.
