Well, I just wanted to wish the Vols good luck this weekend. Expecting a heavyweight fight. Of Course, I expect my Gamecocks to win, but then, if you didn't expect your team to win, I'd question what kind of fan you really were! Here's to a good game with no injuries! Stay classy!

I don't understand where all the predictions for SC to score over 20 points came from. Somebody throw out a 10-7 SC. I just can't believe that Tennessee will give up the most points of the season to SC.

Call it wishful thinking. In reality, a 13-10 or 17-13 game is far more likely, the way these two teams have played recently. And of course, one team or another could light it up. You'll say Tennessee is more likely to, and provide several good points. I'll say USC has the weapons, and I wouldn't be lying. So we'll leave it at a 4 point game from me, in favor of the Gamecocks, for simplicity's sake, since I know there's very little we'll actually agree to.

Besides, Auburn put up more than my prediction on Tennessee.

Well I look at it this way. Tennessee and South Carolina have two important things in common. Tough defenses and a superstar on those defenses. (Berry and Norwood) So the weight is on the OC's to get their guys to perform. I just don't see this getting into the 20's either way.

Eh. That was the talk before USC Georgia too. I don't think ANYONE saw those teams putting up 70+ points. I was shocked to be honest that neither defense (nor USC's special teams, which have been ANYTHING but special this season) showed up, and the game turned into an offensive shootout. But then, I don't expect that to happen here either. To be honest, I circled this game after Florida failed to put up 30 or 40 on UT (but in retrospect, how bad IS Florida's offense this year compared to recent seasons?).

I do know this, I'll be back here, win or lose after the game to share my thoughts on it, and if we win, there will be no gloating here from me. After all, We could have easily lost to Vandy or UK. Or even Ole Miss. We haven't had a real statement win this season. Of course, the Bama game was actually a decent one for us, seeing as we only allowed 13 offensive points, and forced several turnovers while they committed many penalties (partly due to our playing, partly due to mental lapse), but that is a DAMN good defense, and kept us from capitalizing on those opportunities (much like they did to Tennessee with the penalties, and a few phantom calls thrown in). All in all both our teams played Bama to very similar results, the biggest difference being a pick six by their defense to start the game.

So again, here's to hoping for entertaining, injury free football, and may the best team tomorrow night win!

Let's see if I'm reading this right. A fan base from a 3-4 team is calling a 6-2 team, in the same conference and division, a middle of the road team. Pot calling the kettle black? I'm not so crazy as to say that UT can't win, in fact playing at home w/100,000 fans makes it difficult for my Gamecocks. That being said, if you look at the NCAA rankings on Offense, Deffense and Special Teams, this should be a great game. As I said before this could come down to the team that does not give up a big return on special teams. I will say if it comes down to field pos. and field goals we have the advantage. If we start at our end all nighr we are in trouble. I also believe that for the first time this year Johnson will move Stewart up to "spur" position and stick 8 in the box and send Stewart on a one on one with Crompton. Our corners Gilmore and Auguste are cover corners that anchor the #3 pass defense in the country so they can pick up the slack. Anywho my prediction---USC-24, UT-17 Yours?

I will admit I can't post a Clempsux post and not use it but that is true hatred. I also know that
