It's sad that Fulmer couldn't do more with the talent he had. He had elite talent, top 15 talent over the past 4-5 years, but his type of coaching was ineffective. We haven't only had top 25 classes, Last year we had the #12 class, 3 years ago the #6 class. This year we only have 8 seniors, so this class doesn't need to be as overwhelming.
no he didn't
That is a sad and unfortunate fact my friend
Name 14 teams who had consistent better recruiting classes over those years. There are only 13 teams who have been consistently in the top 25 the last 5 years. South Carolina is one of them, Tennessee missed one year (they were 35). The talent was there to win, they just didn't. Plus you have over the course of the last 5 years you have had 3 top 10 classes. The #3, #4, and #10 classes, so to say the talent wasn't there, would be false.
recruiting calls ranking != talented team. If we were recruiting so well why do we have no backup qb, two 270lb walkons on the OL and at one at MLB (now hurt) and are starting a bunch of true freshmen. You are talking about something you don't understand and are really making a mess out of it
I thought you had some walk ons because Kiffin dismissed people? I def. understand, Spurrier did the same thing with us when he got here. In fact he dismissed Demetris Summers (#1 RB out of High School, Reggie Bush was #2). We have injuries too, we are down two starters up the middle, but our recruiting has been solid, so we have very dependable back ups. Fulmer had the players, he just didn't have the system any more.
First off, I'm not friends with any "chicken" lover.
No offense, it's just not me.
Second, Lane will make Tennessee a powerhouse again in the next few years, and with Monte declaring today that he will not retire anytime soon, I look for the defense to continue to be excellent. Lane has took our offense from 115th last year to in the top 35 this year.
Don't forget....you can't spell citrus without UT
Man I can't think of a 3-4 team ANY better than this Tennessee team. They have the greatest offense ever and the defense to go with it. How are they not undefeated?
Garcia has had 4 INT's all year. Not sure on the fumbles but that's 6 less than JC. Our run game is decent but easily shutdown so I do worry about that. Contrary to your belief, this will be a football game. Not a slaughter.
