We were so lucky to have flipped a commitment from NikeSouth Carolina to our second class Adidas school before this deal was announced.

That’s hard to believe, but I just looked it up and it checks out. They do receive 15% of merch sales as well. But I would think we have something similar in place on top of the 20 million per year.

Lot of coping from USCjr fans saying it’s a $77.5 million deal over 10 years due to the apparel value. Even if that’s the case, Tennessee’s deal is far more substantial and we get CASH MONEY. Also, I don’t think we have to buy the apparel from Adidas.

$500K a year for an SEC school is kind of embarrassing.

I suppose that may be about right though when I stop to think about it.

I have traveled quite a bit in my life and seeing USCjr gear outside of a few hundred miles of Columbia has been rare.

Only times I have ever seen people wearing their gear en masse is when I have been in SE Asia and Mexico. The cockfighting culture is huge in both places. The guys who are big into that mess LOVE them some USCjr gear because most of their crap says "Cocks" on it..

Sad but true. Nike must be in really bad shape if that is the market they are after lol

Nike is redesigning 3 football uniforms, 4 basketball uniforms and the basketball court. $72.5M in product allotment. South Carolina kind of screwed themselves because they will only receive $500k/yr in cash and even if they sell $5M in merchandise that’s $750k/yr in royalties. I have no idea what their actual merchandise sells are so I’m just throwing a big number out there as an example. So over the lifetime of the contract South Carolina might be lucky enough to get close to $15M in cash. We will get more in cash/NIL alone during our first year of the Adidas deal than they will get over the entire lifetime of their Nike deal. We will be considered the flagship program for Adidas so whatever product we ask for they will send no questions asked. I am not concerned about product allotment in the slightest. It’s all about the money and we are going to have A LOT of it compared to the majority of schools. South Carolina should have asked Nike to drop the product number down to $50M and make up that difference in $25M cash. At least they would have gotten some money in their deal.

15% is not a lot if it’s my brand on the merchandise imo. I would be asking no less than 50/50. Anything below that is nonnegotiable, especially if you are only giving me $500k guaranteed every year. If you have confidence in your brand then it should sell no matter what logo is on it. South Carolina screwed themselves.

Their athletics program is vastly overrated nationally. This season is the first time ever they sold all of their football season tickets. And that was only 40,500 seats. They really don't support their sports teams.
