Normally its not a big deal, but this year's Vermont team may be the best America East team that's ever been assembled, and John Becker has that program absolutely rolling, wouldn't you agree?

They should win their conference tourney and get the automatic bid, but they have to do that. A few years ago they won like 27 games but lost in their tourney and missed the big dance.

Burlington doesn’t have much in the winter except snow sports, ice fishing, and b-ball

Thats b/c their coaches aren't very good with regards to development. They throw a bunch of talented kids together and expect them to show out. Sometimes it works out, sometimes they lay an egg. No doubt they will win a few big games, but they will also lose some head scratchers.
Like him or not, Calipari knows how to develop talent. UK is always much better at the end of every year than at the beginning because Cal coaches them up. You may dispute that, but you would be showing your ignorance. 6 of the last 10 SEC Tourney Championships. No other team has won more than once in those 10 years.

Auburn and Tn are better than expected but maybe you have not watched Ky struggle and struggle bad. They might improve but it wont be enough, jmo. Fla is slightly better than Ky. I dont know if Tn ends up being good or not but Tn will be better than both of these teams. Ky lost to Evansvile and should have lost against Utah Valley. Usually with Ky you see the talent there and you know that they will get it going before March , I dont see any hint of that happening right now
Kentucky still has more talent than anyone and there has only been one year under Calipari that they didn't pull it together. This year is no different. By conference play and especially by conference tournament time they will be the team to beat.

South Carolina had played well before the recent embarrassing loss so I wouldn't start throwing dirt on their grave just yet. Could just be that one really bad game or it could be a sign of bad things coming for them but I think everybody is forgetting it's still just November.

Give me Barnes over Calipari when it comes to pure coaching.

That's a good point. They looked awful in the non-con last year, then somehow turned it around and went 11-7 in the SEC. Still really early. As they found out last year though, if you don't do well in November/December, even an 11-7 conference record can't save you.

Easily.

Cal is a great recruiter and a great motivator. He is also really good at meshing egos and managing a team of stars. For this reason, it really shocks me that he hasn't taken one of these NBA opportunities over the past 5-7 years. His coaching skills, minus the recruiting, seem built so much more for the NBA, and his ego would seem hellbent on proving that his ill-fated run with the Nets was a fluke.

Kentucky has won their fair share of SEC tourneys, but the SEC was also down many of those years. The last two years where the SEC has significantly improved, and we have a different result.

I wasn't under the impression that south Carolina was going to be very good this year anyway. Doesn't excuse a loss to Boston U, but it's not all that shocking.

USC looks like a very bad coached team. They don't have a big man like Chris Silva to cover the other players mistakes on the defensive side of the ball and don't have his inside scoring or rebounding either. They will be very mediocre this year. Lawson and Minaya will be their 2 best players. Frank Martin hasn't signed a very good recruiting class either for this cycle. He may be on his way out in a year or two? Still, they shouldn't have lost to Boston U!

While Wichita State is usually pretty good at least, they're currently destroying USCe. I think they'll be pretty bad.
