USC/Utah

20 home games versus 8. Come on now. Whatever. I’m done with this. I’m very happy for a 12 team playoff and do not believe it will reduce the significance and there are plenty of years where the best 4 are not playing in the current format. That’s it.

When you say 20 vs 8 brings in more revenue you’re admitting you’re diluting the product which is my point

You may be right. We’ll see. It’s a terrible financial decision, and money really does make CFP decisions whether we like it or not. Sankey’s financial sway is 10-1 over the Cactus 12. I’d have a very different opinion if it were Texas.
Definitely if it were Texas it wouldnt there wouldnt even be a question about it.

I thought it was really stupid of Riley to put Williams back in down by 23 with 2 minutes remaining. It is one thing to try and fight through pain when you’re playing for a title. They were well beyond that and he put him in a position to get injured.

TCU is out if they lose by a point.
No they’re not. By every metric they’re ahead of UGA and UM who are considered locks. If the committee drops them out with a close loss then the human experience should be dead and done away with. You can’t use the metrics to justify UGA at 12-1 and ignore those same metrics for TCU.

“Metrics”. Look at your metrics and then look at various changes in rank that occurred over the last three weeks. USC’s leap was a West Coast TV audience leap. Bama jumping up is an SEC sway bump. The committee comes from a deep understanding of how money flows. The actual list of criteria is so long and so subjective, that they can justify a pretty wide band of choices.

USC was deserving at the time of the bump. 2 straight top 25 wins, one loss by 1 on the road to a top 12 team and a regular season P5 championship on their resume. Bama, OSU, Clemson nor UT had all of those going for them.

Strong math skills. Sadly your logic is lacking. TCU has the lowest TV ratings of any team. Their fanbase doesn’t travel well, and they aren’t even a money generator in the conference. As with Cincinnati, the committee will only keep them if they have to. There is an argument to be made that at one loss they have to take them, but it does not involve the detective work you did to count one loss.

Thanks for your complements on my math skills, Fumbler. But the committee will have to keep them even if they lose (unles they get blasted, which is posible).

Recheck your metrics. The actual criteria favors UT over USC. That said, I don’t think we deserve to be in the top four either.

Looking more and more like the blowout scenario is going to play out, TCU really doesnt look deserving in this game.

Things are about to get weird if that happens. The CFP is going to have a list of terrible choices for the 4th spot. I would not count out TCU yet. They’re pretty evenly matched with KSU.

At 2 losses we didn’t deserve to be ahead of them. To me the SOS and top 25 wins comes into play when comparing teams with the same record. When one team is 11-1 and the other is 10-2 and the one loss is by 1 pt on the road on the last play of the game you get the nod. USC didn’t pass us until after the SCar loss.

If you want a coach to find a Hooker, I would recommend Huge Freeze over Heupel. That’s more his area of expertise.
Hooker with a capital H as in Hendon Hooker who made this season possible. Not sure we have anyone close to that talent on the roster today.

What say you now, Clint? TCU loses, so are they out? I say no way.

Alice—The committee has never been in a worse spot. TCU tv audience is 4 people, but not sure who deserves it more. Don’t underestimate Sankey. He has the money argument and he is a knife fighter. Watch out.

Karen -- it will be 1) GA 2) MICH. 3)OSU. 4)TCU. That assures them of an SEC Big Ten final
