USC/Utah

Until the South Carolina game, I would have said three SEC teams was on the table, or at least not insane to consider. UT shot themselves in the foot on that one.

I get that, but honestly, is this team the same team it was with Hooker? Like I said, I’m not sure about that. The thumping, both the score and when it happened in the schedule, SCar gave UT really made that a moot point.
That’s why you play the game to find out if you are truly worthy of the spot it shouldn’t be taken away from you before you get the chance to play it. I just think you can’t penalize a team that should get a spot due to them having a injury. It should be strictly the field that decides it. Injuries are a part of the game and it just gives the committee to much latitude to split too many hairs with injuries. Opens up a can of worms. Keep it on the field.

TCU has the number one SOR
TCU’s SOS is better than Georgia’s, better than Michigan’s, Better than USC’s (not that that matters now)

TCU plays a higher ranked team than Georgia does, than Michigan does, than USC did, than Clemson does……..TCU’s SOS will increase more than anyone else’s.

They are in unless they get hammered. SOR and SOS and they are playing a better team than anyone else is.

What the Committee wants:

Georgia
Michigan
Ohio State
Alabama
For revenue, sure.

They probably didn't want Cinci in either, but they earned it. TCU has earned it too.

Short of an epic collapse against KS State, and by epic I mean 40-50 burger shutout, there's no discussion. Even with a complete beatdown, there's a discussion but I bet they're still in.

Would you think GA or MI would be out if they lost? No way. If TCU shows up with a pulse, they're in.

Think about it

If you think Georgia and Michigan are locks……..then why wouldn’t TCU be a lock?
(Unless they got destroyed)

SOR >
SOS >
The team their playing >

I’m not saying their better than Georgia, Michigan or even Tennessee. Saying what I’m saying……it is what it is.

It will all work itself out. I still say we’re ending up in the Orange. My prediction is that 1 of USC or TCU will lose since the spreads in both games are only 2.5 points (most likely USC), and Ohio State will slide into the playoffs.

So it’ll be:

Peach Bowl: UGA vs Ohio State
Fiesta Bowl: Michigan vs TCU
Rose Bowl: Utah vs Penn State
Sugar Bowl: Alabama vs Kansas State
Orange Bowl: Tennessee vs Clemson
Cotton Bowl: USC vs Tulane

Feeling pretty good about this heading into tomorrow.

They won’t do something stupid and now rank Utah ahead of TN will they? USC is trash

I really don’t think that will happen. Utah is still a 3 loss Pac-12 team and TN a former #1 ranked SEC 2 loss team. Pac-12 Champ or no, it just wouldn’t make sense to me. Of course with this committee who knows? It doesn’t make much sense to me that TN is ranked behind Bama, so who knows what they might do.

Lol. Ok.

And a 16 team b-ball tourney instead of 64/68 would be better as well. Yea.

Two different sports. Idk if you’ve noticed this or not, but there’s very little interest in college basketball’s regular season

3 SEC teams should have been in this year tbh.
Not should have, could have..UT UGA & UA all could have finished the regular season @ 11-1. One of them loses the SEC title to drop to 11-2. That SEC title losing team at 11-2 could be a four seed in this year's rankings.. Tennessee losing @ South Carolina and Alabama losing @ LSU kept it from happening. Only Georgia held up their end of the deal.

If CJH can find another Hooker and a lot of defensive secondary help aka UGA or BAMA caliber, we will beat UGA in Neyland next year…book it. We just can’t afford the blowouts like USCe game.

Lincoln Riley attracts football players.

Kyle Whittingham develops football players into men.

You could see the difference last night. The ballers went out ahead 17-3. Then the men took over and that was that.

In an age where talent will come and go so fast that it makes free agency in baseball look like the old Reserve Clause, having coaches who can build talent over time into something full-grown and formidable is worth its weight in platinum.

Wrong. TCU gets in if they lose, unless they get throttled. They will be a one-loss team and everyone else will be a two loss team.
Strong math skills. Sadly your logic is lacking. TCU has the lowest TV ratings of any team. Their fanbase doesn’t travel well, and they aren’t even a money generator in the conference. As with Cincinnati, the committee will only keep them if they have to. There is an argument to be made that at one loss they have to take them, but it does not involve the detective work you did to count one loss.

Cant argue tv rating but they have a much stronger strength of schedule and stronger conference than Cincinatti had, I think the are in with a loss as well but we'll see.

You may be right. We’ll see. It’s a terrible financial decision, and money really does make CFP decisions whether we like it or not. Sankey’s financial sway is 10-1 over the Cactus 12. I’d have a very different opinion if it were Texas.

If you want a coach to find a Hooker, I would recommend Huge Freeze over Heupel. That’s more his area of expertise.

That is completely untrue. Betting sites would disageee and more importantly, the full arenas for nearly 20 home games also dispute that argument.
And regardless of that, it is still the greatest tournament in sports.
A 12 team playoff would do nothing to change the importance of footballs regular season.

Those full arenas aren’t holding 100k+. The arenas are full because you build them with that intent to a size relative to the demand. The arenas are smaller because so is the demand.

20 home games versus 8. Come on now. Whatever. I’m done with this. I’m very happy for a 12 team playoff and do not believe it will reduce the significance and there are plenty of years where the best 4 are not playing in the current format. That’s it.
