USC Trojans vs. UF

That's true. But part of that is the stupid system we have. Put a playoff in and see how well SC does. When was the last time they lost to another elite team? They rise to the level of their fight. Do I think they'd drill the SEC the way they walk through the PAC 10? Of course not. However, they would be right there every year for the title.
Texas is the only elite team they have lost to in years.

My one criticism of Pete Carroll is that he always manages to have USC lose a game to a far inferior opponent.

USC's regular season losses to Stanford, OSU and others tells me all I need to know about how they would handle an SEC schedule.

USC would not have beaten UF last year. UF's defense would have shut them down and USC's defense would not have been fast enough to keep up with UF's speed.

USC would be competitive in the SEC but would consistently be a 2 loss teams(at least).

I agree with this post. Florida would destroy the Pac-10 schedule that USC plays. Teams like Oregon, Oregon St., and Cal would get buried with points. The speed of Florida would kill the Pac-10 defenses.

I bet if you called PC he would be delighted to play Florida... but lets be realistic, UF is a cowardly/(smart maybe?) team. Look at their non conference schedule this year..

FLORIDA
1. Charleston Southern
2. Troy
3. Florida International
4. Florida State

USC
1. San Jose St.
2. Ohio St.
3. Notre Dame

What kind of team plays OSU and ND, on top of their conference schedule? Florida? Nope. they play Charleston Southern.. and FIU. Wow.

Not to mention. The mighty Gators, play 3 ranked teams this year.. The Trojans play 5. (according to Preseason rankings)

Florida might be able to destroy teams in the Pac-10... but they do that in the SEC. Also, you didn't mention beating USC? what about their "speed". USC could also destroy the SEC schedule that UF plays...

They play Notre Dame every year, USC does. It's one of their biggest rivals, maybe their biggest.

It is easy to pick on this year's schedule.

UF won the BCS title in 2006 having played the nation's toughest schedule. They won the BCS title last year having played the nation's second toughest schedule.

USC can't touch that.

i know. What i am saying is... that you dont see FL, outside of FSU, playing any tough non-conference games. Charleston Southern is an FCS team.. the defending champs playing a 7-5 division II team. I find it sad when people say Florida has a tough schedule. No they don't. They have a solid one, with frosting on the edges.

Toughest schedule, who determines that? isn't part of the BCS "super" computer? i agree that they have a solid schedule. However, it isn't far from USC's.

Hah! 2006, UF schedule consisted of... UCF, Western Carolina, and Southern Miss.

They beat:

Ohio St 12-1 ranked 2nd
LSU 11- ranked 3rd
Auburn 11-2 ranked 9th
Arkansas 10-4 ranked 15th
Tennessee 9-4 ranked 23rd
Georgia 9-4 ranked 25th
Southern Miss 8-5
Kentucky 8-5
Florida St 7-6
South Carolina 8-5
Alabama 6-7

LSU would give USC all kinds of problems. LSU's defensive linemen would be too much for most non-conference foes to handle.

Florida would have beaten usc pretty easy last year in the title game in miami. This year, the title game is in the Rose Bowl, where usc has their home games!!! If usc makes it, that will be a big advantage.

There are 2 things wrong with your post.

1. USC most certainly could have beaten Florida last year. Hell, they were probably the best team in America at the end of 2008.

2. USC plays in the LA Coliseum, not the Rose Bowl. That would be UCLA.

Playing across town is better than traveling across the country. That's correct.

You are right, only sec I lineman can contain them. They were so dominant they list five times in the sec.

USC has been a great program under Pete Carroll. They tend to play good teams well and then lose to a lesser team like Oregon State or Stanford. I bet USC would give Florida all it could handle. I'd love to see that matchup.

I never said USC was a bad team. I and nobody on here knows what will happen if USC were to come to the SEC. But I can say they're speed on offense won't overmatch the defenses of the SEC like they do most of the Pac-10.

I knew they had a weak schedule...but man that is so lame. Florida should be embarrassed by this. Incredibly weak non conference schedule.
