Texas is the only elite team they have lost to in years. That's true. But part of that is the stupid system we have. Put a playoff in and see how well SC does. When was the last time they lost to another elite team? They rise to the level of their fight. Do I think they'd drill the SEC the way they walk through the PAC 10? Of course not. However, they would be right there every year for the title.
My one criticism of Pete Carroll is that he always manages to have USC lose a game to a far inferior opponent.
USC's regular season losses to Stanford, OSU and others tells me all I need to know about how they would handle an SEC schedule.
USC would not have beaten UF last year. UF's defense would have shut them down and USC's defense would not have been fast enough to keep up with UF's speed.
USC would be competitive in the SEC but would consistently be a 2 loss teams(at least).
I agree with this post. Florida would destroy the Pac-10 schedule that USC plays. Teams like Oregon, Oregon St., and Cal would get buried with points. The speed of Florida would kill the Pac-10 defenses.
I bet if you called PC he would be delighted to play Florida... but lets be realistic, UF is a cowardly/(smart maybe?) team. Look at their non conference schedule this year..
FLORIDA
1. Charleston Southern
2. Troy
3. Florida International
4. Florida State
USC
1. San Jose St.
2. Ohio St.
3. Notre Dame
What kind of team plays OSU and ND, on top of their conference schedule? Florida? Nope. they play Charleston Southern.. and FIU. Wow.
Not to mention. The mighty Gators, play 3 ranked teams this year.. The Trojans play 5. (according to Preseason rankings)

It is easy to pick on this year's schedule.
UF won the BCS title in 2006 having played the nation's toughest schedule. They won the BCS title last year having played the nation's second toughest schedule.
USC can't touch that.
Hah! 2006, UF schedule consisted of... UCF, Western Carolina, and Southern Miss.
Florida might be able to destroy teams in the Pac-10... but they do that in the SEC. Also, you didn't mention beating USC? what about their "speed". USC could also destroy the SEC schedule that UF plays...
Florida would have beaten usc pretty easy last year in the title game in miami. This year, the title game is in the Rose Bowl, where usc has their home games!!! If usc makes it, that will be a big advantage.
There are 2 things wrong with your post.
1. USC most certainly could have beaten Florida last year. Hell, they were probably the best team in America at the end of 2008.
2. USC plays in the LA Coliseum, not the Rose Bowl. That would be UCLA.
Do me a favor, try to open your eyes next time u watch football. That would clear a lit if things up.
