USC offensive coordinator Tee Martin

If Currie wants to buy himself time this is the only hire to make get. A great staff and fans will be more patient with tee

This thread should be pinned at the top! I’m all about sticking with our own from here on out. It’s been a downward spiral ever since we started bringing in coaches from the outside.

At this point, it seems our only good option. Not only due to a vocal fan base, but it seems there is an ongoing peeing for distance contest between donors. It's a private little war that has been ongoing. It would be almost like the feuding between Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau in Grumpy Old Men, but with maybe some slightly younger guys, and alot more money and power involved and much higher stakes and publicity. If somebody doesn't put a stop to this, God only knows how bad it will get. Because it seems each side has their own people within the administration and the athletics department, which results in an ongoing backstabbing contest. The fans and students are just caught in the middle and easily manipulated by whoever can get their attention.

For now, I no longer have high hopes or aspirations for this program. I just hope our players can get their education and stay outta trouble. Those who can make it to the league I will still take pride in. But anything more? By the time it gets good again, I will either be in the grave or too old to stay awake. From now on, it will be nice if we win, but oh well if we don't.

If what Hyams is saying is remotely true why is Tee Martin not anywhere on our list?! We will hire Gundy but not Tee?? That makes zero sense.

It’s becoming more and more apparent that Currie has an aversion to anyone who is a true VOL! What a joke!

Because head coaching experience is a pre requisite for this job. Of course, that was said weeks ago BEFORE the Schiano fiasco. Now, who knows? I honestly think Tee would excel here, but I don't get to make those decisions.

I’d prefer Tee over Kiffin. A lot of threads out there about Kiffin. Should be more about Tee.

Before they hire Kiffin, I would rather see the goalposts replaced with nets. Just switch everything over from football to soccer. Go get a great manager to get things going, get players from South America and/or Europe to come in. With all the head injury concerns, and bad rule changes, why not build something new and growing rather than toxic and crumbling?

Some of you may think Kiffin is a great option and you are entitled to your opinions. But if you thought the Schiano situation made for ugly headlines, that's nothing. Bringing him in won't revitalize the program, it will blow it apart. So if you want to put Tennessee football out of it's misery, go ahead, hire that SOB.

Not Kiffin ever. I have no problem with Tee. Yes he's a coordinator and it's a risk...but it's not Kiffin. That bridge was burned a long time ago.

Who is a better fit for Tennessee than Tee Martin age 39....Tennessee background, great national recruiter, excellent coach...How old was Doug Dickey age 32, Phil Fulmer age 42, Bob Neyland age 34. All three were assistant coaches...Tennessee record with head coaches...Lane Kiffin, Derek Dooley, Butch Jones.. Need I say more

No Sumlin on his list either... maybe Al Haynesworth is onto something here...

I wouldn't be mad with a Gundy hire. However I would be upset to know that we hired him without giving Tee a serious look. I feel we desperately need someone right now that understands the pride that goes into wearing the Power T.

Gundy is a great candidate. No complaints.

If we are talking to Jeremy Pruitt (Petrino-lite with no HC experience) then we have some serious issues that the boosters need to deal with.

Well right now they need to make as good of a hire they can. Later on, somebody needs to offer dueling pistols to the boosters who are feuding. If they can't get along, settle it the old fashion way and let the rest of us get on with life. I am sure everyone appreciates their support, but the BS is getting old.

Gundy and Pruitt probably want to steer clear of this place. After this weekend, I am not getting picky anymore. Thanks to our AD shutting out the press, he didn't have an ally who could refute that Washington Post article and get ahead of that. Not everyone would have been on board with Schiano's record, but it would have been less insane.

Tee, I understand what it's like to live in California and I know it's hard to leave. But man, we need you. Come home Tee! Heck, we named a street after you that the visiting team has to see every time they enter the stadium. Think about how intimidating that is.

Currie is only leaking talks with Gundy to pacify the fan base and cool his own chair. Gundy will use it as a negotiation tool for his own future pay raises from Oklahoma State. There should be no more discussion on the matter of Gundy, and frankly it's sad that average level of awareness of people on this forum and elsewhere are so easily hyped up over nothing.

So Tee has made it known he would accept the job instantly, but Peyton Manning isn't sure about Tee becoming coach.... In the past 72 hours, Peyton has made some very questionable, if not detrimental, actions to his alma mater....

Several VFLs are wanting fans to support Tee, but none of them will say Tee wants it. Even if he has worn the power T, it's a waste of time to lobby for him if he and his wife want to stay in LA for her music career. He really needs to say, or to have a friend reassure those they want to support him that he wants to be at Tennessee.

Tee has told UT that he would take the job instantly if offered. So to say no one knows if he would take it is completely false.

Peyton is the one pushing against Tee getting the job. That in itself is a joke.

Does Payton not like Tee? Is it because Tee beat Florida and won a NC? I really don't understand.
