Would be as good of an outcome as i could ask for at this time. But im sure they will settle for some no one and subject us to another 5-6 yrs of mediocrity.

If he would surround himself with a solid staff I could get on board with this. It is not ideal, but clearly, we are not dealing with ideal circumstances. He would tear it up on the recruiting trail.

We need a Vol back in charge.

Let's get Tee and support him while we have the chance.

I'm not sure he's ready for the job, but there's no doubt that he's a great recruiter and the kids on the team would rally behind him. Maybe that's what the program needs right now...a coach that the team loves, respects, and will buy in to.

The love affair some have with Tee needs to end. We are in a dumpster fire and you want a guy who has never been a HC? Come back to earth and think.

I think he would be great. Can't do worse than 8 losses. His offense is putting up way better numbers than UT did this year. Good coordinators and he'd be a perfect fit.

He's not ready to run a program like ours

I'm not sure what you mean? Are you saying that coaching the currently worst team in the SEC is too big of a job or he's overqualified? He knows the SEC, he has California recruiting ties, he's an ace recruiter, and he has consistently put players in the NFL at his positions.

Agree- off the top of my head:

Stoops was an coordinator when hired by Oklahoma. Lincoln Riley was a coordinator who followed Stoops. Mark Richt was a coordinator when hired at Georgia. Kirby Smart was a coordinator when hired at Georgia. Dan Mullin was a coordinator when hired at Miss State. Jimbo Fisher was a coordinator when hired at FSU. Phil Fulmer was a coordinator when hired by TN. Bill O’Brien was a coordinator when hired by Penn State. Chip Kelly was a coordinator when hired by Oregon. Lane Kiffin was a coordinator when hired by Tennessee (discounting his abortion of an NFL stint). Clay Helton was a coordinator when hired by USC. Steve Sarkisian was a coordinator when hired by Washington. Mike Macintyre was a coordinator when hired by Colorado. David Shaw was a coordinator when hired by Stanford. James Franklin was a coordinator when hired by Vanderbilt. Derek Mason was a coordinator when hired Vanderbilt. Stoops was a coordinator when hired by Kentucky. Odom was a coordinator when hired by Missouri. Pat Fitzgerald was a position coach when hired by Northwestern. Dabo Swinney was a coordinator when hired by Clemson. Gary Patterson was a coordinator when hired by TCU.

95% of the above would be better than what we have right now at this point, and all have met or exceeded expectations, though the jury is out on Mason, who I think is a solid coach

Unless you have Urban Meyer or Nick Saban type of transformational hire, you are just as likely to hire Butch Jones (who came to TN with an impressive 50-23 record at mid majors) as you are Steve Spurrier.
