When all the dust settles, I'd like some sort of Martin/Cutcliffe combination on our newly rebuilt coaching staff.
It's all fine and good to "Spec. out" a new head coach.
Here ya go:
10 Years of HC experience in the NCAA, Top 5 winner with a championship record. Proven ability to recruit and develop players who can compete toe-to-toe with ANY program in the country week-in-week-out and BEAT BAMA.
Yup...that's the guy we want.
Problem is, he ain't out there, looking for a job. This ain't like going into a Ford dealership and "spec-ing out" a new pickup truck.
I wish Currie all the luck in the world on this one...he's going to need it. Fact is, he will have to take a chance on someone or just keep Hoke for another season. Currie's bottom line is that is he fails to hire the coach Tennessee needs, when that one goes...he'll be leaving with him and he knows it.
GO BIG ORANGE.

Hire David Cut as HC. Tee as HC in waiting. Get Jay Graham back in some capacity, keep coach Gillespie, bring in al Wilson as a GA/or defensive quality control coach.

Cut is too old. Every team would use his age against him.

Bonus for Tee over many of the “2nd tier” candidates is his proven value as a recruiter. He’s one of the best in the country.

There is a real chance that Tee is OC. He won't be the HFC next year though.

Cut teaches Tee the rigors of being a HC. Tee is currently a top 5 national recruiter, with experience winning and losing on a big stage. He has southern ties, he has University pride.

Think stoops and riley in oklahoma. Tee is going to be a great coach. I want him becoming a great coach in knoxville.

I'm far less sold on the Chavis plan, think the offenses have passed him by.

Heard this crap on Basilio show last night. I knew then it was time to get off the show.

Coach-in-waiting didn't work very good at FSU (had to piss Bowden off to save Jimbo) and Texas still hasn't recovered from their attempt. Sounds perfect for Tennessee.
