I read this morning that Kiffin and Co. can play in a bowl game next year, and are off probation. I guess that means they are eligible for the NC is that correct? Is the scholarship reduction still in place? I mean coming off a 10-2 season and with Barkley coming back they have a real shot at a NC season. I would hate to see that but there is no denying the fact he and his staff can get it done. It is sickening to me and makes me hate Hamilton even more than I already do.

You should be mad at Hambone b/c of "$800,000"....I still will never understand how there was not an absurdly huge buyout for him to go to USC.

He supposedly told Hamilton that he intended to remain at U.T., unless the job at U.S.C. was open. At least, he was upfront about it, the very day that he was hired by Hamilton.
The buy-out clause was probably in place, but not for U.S.C. I am sure that had he gone anywhere; other than U.S.C., then there would have been a buy-out.

look for the trojans to compete for the n c. they have a lot of starters coming back, plus the pac 10 plays only 2 non- con teams next year. the trojans play hawaii and another cream puff as non cons. yes, they will have scholly reductions, but he piled up abunch of freshmen this past season.

How does this happen? You get 1 year and then get let off? This and the Ohio State situation both show just do whatever the hell you want because the penalty is really not that severe.

Scholarship reduction is still in place.

He beat Oregon with around 55 to 60 scholarship players.

Two years were served where USC couldn't go bowling. The scholarship reductions haven't really shown yet, 2013 is when there will be little depth on the roster.

I thought they were playing 9 conference games. That would allow 3 non-conference games. I haven't heard anything about them playing 10 conference games. If they were doing that, they may as well play all 11 of their league rivals.

In other news....I hear Peyton Manning might miss the first part of the 2011 season because of a "neck condition."

/last year's news.

Whenever one of the D1 schools have a major violation reported and investigated, that usually means that State Poly-tech Institute is going to receive the death penalty.

under the most improved teams for 2012, "with sactions lifted and coming off a 10 win season and Barkley coming back look for USC to via for a BCS birth". That is paraphrased but essentially what was said.

Well isn't that sweet. Scholarship reductions is what will hurt them. They're not off sanctions. Sanctions include the scholly losses.

It doesn't matter if they get to the NC next year, they will just get blown out by an even more loaded LSU team. IMO, LSU will be even better next year than they are this year.

Yeah they went 8-4 or so last year and weren't allowed to go to a bowl; they served their two year bowl ban...the OP/title maker was very mistaken in that area

usc recieved a 2 year bowl ban and lost 10 scholar ships a year for 3 years. this is where Kiffin was smart he accepted the bowl ban but appaeled the scholarship losses. The appeal took long enough to get his class of like 35 players in (because of back counting). This will be the first year of only getting 15 scholarship players.

...Yeah someone needs to show something actually saying that they're no longer on the 4 years probation the NCAA ruled back in the June of the punishing incident

My thoughts exactly. I also didn't ask Fiji to paraphrase it. Especially something from that hackjob site that Bleacher Report is.
