Good article. I honestly feel he will do well here. He is someone the players will love to play for. His love for the game and strict emphasis on advancing not only as a player but a human being are going to be values parents will love. He just looks like a genuine guy who just needs time to take us back to the promiseland. GBO

I think he'll do just fine with Tennessee. I just hope he makes the necessary staff changes when needed.

A realistic perspective... Dooley is not all orange and even he knows that much. I'm not sure why some here think and act otherwise.

More money, new color. That's just the way it is. I'm okay with that.

I think you are misreading the quote...it ends after Dooley says, "I have worn alot of colors since I left there." Then the author says the current one is Orange.

"I've worn a lot of colors since I left there," he says. The current color is orange, and his mother, Barbara, says she'll be at the game wearing Tennessee orange and Georgia red.

He said the same thing in his press conference the other day and he was referring to the fact that going back to UGA this Saturday isn't going to be that nostalgic since it's been a long time since he lived in Athens.

That why the quotes ended where they did (see quotation marks around Dooley's comment). I didn't say it was Dooley's comment.

What's obvious to anyone without orange-colored glasses is that Dooley is loyal to his employer. My point is that such loyalty is normal.

Blind loyalty is not. Again, simply pointing out what those who seem to think Dooley would never leave UT should know. He would. And, if he is proves himself worthy of having the Tennessee job (he'll have to do that on the field), you can bet UGA will come calling.

This weekend he has a real opportunity to make an impression on the SEC. If he can beat UGA with a less-talented Volunteer team, he'll be in demand by both employers.

My guess... he blows the chance. I don't think he'll blow this one by having too many players on the field. I think he'll be out-talented and out-coached this weekend. I'm not a big fan of CMR, but he is the better coach between these two options at this point in their careers.

Don't read too much into the last qualification. I don't think either will be coaching at the SEC level five years from now.

lol @ the idea of Dooley leaving UT for UGA. Not. Going. To. Happen. It's a possibility many years down the road but the idea of him leaving anytime soon for UGA is laughable.

It's laughable because he's not qualified.

If by some miracle he proved himself qualified, it's as realistic as was Kiffin going to USC, only Dooley's ties to the Dawgs are even stronger.

It's one thing to be deny this with one coach and get burned, but it's completely foolish to do it twice. If he really is that good, he'll get the offer and it will be tempting.

Again, I don't think he's good enough for it to be a problem for us.

The more likely scenario is that CDD and his staff are good enough to keep their jobs and extend an era of mediocrity beyond three years (e.g. 5-7 this season, 7-5 next year, 8-4 after that, then about three years of 8 or 9 wins with one say 6 win season mixed in). That's about six years of probable mediocrity.

I posted this issue long ago (extended mediocrity versus quick turnover of the new staff), and now that I've seen the blind faith here, the concern has been validated.

That's right b/c they're similar situations since Kiffin's dream job is USC and Dooley's is UGA...oh wait...that's right UGA isn't his dream job. But it's fun for insecure fans to think so. lulz

I'm not insecure. My best hope for the Vols program is that UGA would scarf him up this year and we'd move beyond the mediocrity that is more probable for our program.

We all know your stance on CDD, you've made it clear that you have a crystal ball and can see the future of mediocrity and wish our coach would leave asap. I have the opinion that maybe your cb isn't quite that accurate. Time will tell, you keep being pessimistic and I'll keep being optimistic :good!:

CDD is going to be a fine coach, doing well considering he has perhaps the youngest team in the SEC, look at Georgia, they are suppose to be one of the most talented but yet they are down in the dumps but yet we are suppose to be lower than where we are, Dooley doing a good job IMO!:rock:
