Armour: Athletics come first at Tennessee and shutting down the school proves it

Welp.....took longer than I thought I guess. First slam piece on Tennessee. Can't even fathom how some people don't take the time to think out the logistics of 100,000 people on a 27,000 person campus in the heart of our downtown business district.

And the fact that we replaced the day they cancelled with an extra day. This is why I hate journalism. Very little integrity anymore.

Journalism is quite dead. It passed away a long time ago...

It's the times we live in my friends. Actually thinking before you speak, or in this case, type is a thing of the past. Freedom of speech and journalistic integrity have turned into say/print the first stupid thing you can think of.

Her and Brennan are two worthless women sportswriters -- always b**tching about things in every article they write - I only see this garbage because the company I work for gets the newspaper - I would never pay for it

Articles like this prove the author didn't do their research. Even if one doesn't take into account the sheer number of people that would swamp the campus, were classes not rescheduled for a later date? My gosh, people always need to try and make something out of nothing.

And most "journalists" have mastered the art of writing or speaking without thinking or investigating quite well - unfortunately.

Let's see, the University doesn't schedule classes on holidays, so I guess the university cares more about holidays than they do education. And there are snow days where school has been cancelled - I guess they care more about letting the students enjoy the snow as well.

First of all, the word "cancelled" is wrong. They postponed the school day to later. That doesn't mean that the students can't use the day dedicated to their educational studies by taking that time to study!

Second, I think some fail to understand how success in sports can actually influence the choice of a school for some non-athletes. Yes, I know some would say it shouldn't - but in reality the college experience includes more than just hitting the books.

does anyone even read this rag anymore....they just don't get it. The stadium is right on campus and to think that you can even have classes and night classes at the same time is ridiculous. Not even thinking about all the tailgaters coming in and setting up etc.....did the writer graduate from Florida???

Shouldn't it be "reschedule classes" instead of "cancel classes"? They did make an added day at the end of the semester.
