Yeah, he has done a lot of things well. It would be hard not to admit that. But in game coaching of a football team is not one of them.

I don't think they are targeting Tennessee football. They are trying to generate business and Tennessee makes it easy for them.

Amazing to me are comments being made. I have been watching TN Football for about 60 years, I have heard and read the very same complaints about TN coaches for all of those years. Bowden Wyatt, Doug Dickey, Bill Battle, John Majors, Fulmer, KIffin, Dooley and now Jones. None of them could coach a lick and all the fans knew how to do it better. Just kind of tired of it.

Our kickers should not have to kick multiple 50 yard kicks.
Wouldn`t it be reasonable to get just a little closer?.

Butch went pass happy and shotgun happy on the 2 foot line. No rushing. That led to the INT. Butch did not put his team in a position to be successful.

Butch went shotgun on third and one onFG range and attempted a pass. Holding call and sack led to another 51 yard attempt. Butch's play calling and failure to run (or heck, just take a knee) led to an additional 18 yards on that FG attempt that was missed.

On first and goal with less than a minute left, where we have been hashing their defense with JK running (you did see he had 141 yard RUSHING) we did not run it one single time. We passed, passed, passed. That allowed UF to keep their TO and get the ball back after we only ran 18 seconds off the clock. Three knees and we kick a tying field goal with no time left on the clock. But No No No. let's pass three times and give UF the ball with time to go down and win the game.

And the 2 missed FG were both 47+ yards by a true freshman. I will put this on Butch for that. Not an 18 year old.

Plain and simple, Butch put our players in the position to fail and did not put them in a position to succeed. That is on Butch and that is why he is not a coach of this caliber.

The big chokes early on, the 3-2 record against Vandy, the awful USC loss, the 1-4 florida record (some of the worst teams in decades), the beatdowns from Bama, the slogans and PR nightmares, some of the worst gameday management i have ever witnessed... so much woulda coulda shoulda with Butch... just ready to move on.

Our kickers should have not been expected to kick 50+ yard field goals. Piss poor lineups and playcalling from the staff can be blamed here.

Dormady should not have been expected to light the world on fire when we have a RB who is in 100% beast mode on floridas defense. Once again, piss poor lineups and playcalling from the staff can be blamed here.

Third, the only people who have something to learn is our atrociously bad gameday coaching staff. Any half wit coach would have used Kelly to eat floridas hearts out, my gf who barely knows what a RB is kept asking why is number 4 out? Well babe, ask dumb*** Butch about it.

You DO NOT speak for Morristown! I'm from Morristown and I say if Butch didn't stink up the swamp, then the pick six and missed Field Goals would have been irrelevant, because we were 3 touchdowns better!

what would you have done? kicker should be able to make those, they probably have many times in practice. I'm not defending Birch, but using the missed field goals aren't the best examples. If you want an indictment, there is no excuse for not running the ball on the goal line.

It's year 5 buddy. Stop making excuses and hold Butch accountable for being an awful gameday coach. He isn't going to miraculously get better, it's who he is and why his teams make the same mistakes year in and year out.

Let's not count our chickens before they hatch. With how things are looking early, it will be a 2-3 record vs Vandy after this season.

How many kickers missed the three field goals?

How many times did we run when we were inside the 10?

Me too. He would have to pull a 10-2 rabbit out of his hat to win back the fan base now...and that most likely ain't happening.
