Chandler sucked. I'd rather have Kendrick Perkins.

This year, basically. I was disappointed in Chandler.

Hopefully for 2016, Howard will play, and Anthony Davis will emerge. In today's international game, you only need two centers, and then you can run out just Power Forwards.

Too bad Bosh got hurt. He played well in 2008.

Next time we need more centers than 1

Other than Bynum, Howard, Chandler, and Greg Monroe (who's going to play 4 in the future if Drummond pans out) there are basically zero quality American centers.

You know a guy to watch for (without being a homer)? Greg Monroe. He'd be really good in international play.

Id take Perkins on this team, hes got the toughness. I havent seen much Monroe, but I'll take your word for it lol

16/10, plays good D, passes the ball well, runs the floor, 6'11/250. Dude is going to be a star next year.

Sounds promising. Also, another center that is good when he wants to be, which isnt that ofter, Javale McGee. I hope the addition of AI will help him focus more or whatever he needs.

Forgot about him. He's actually a very valuable player when his head is on right. If he can make some strides, then I would love to add him and give him a shot on the 2014 World team.

He acts like hes the kid thats on a team at the Y who doesnt wanna play but his mom is making him play and he just doesnt care

Poor analysis, IMO.

Chandler barely got playing time. He averaged 11 points, 11 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 1 steal, 1 assist, and 1 turnover per 30 minutes played. Oh yeah, while shooting 70%.

That's pretty much exactly what you want and expect from Chandler, and Perkins is not likely to give you that productivity.

Why did Chandler get no playing time? Why did every center we played look like Chamberlain? The tourney tried to make Love look like an actual post player too, until someone had a decent center.

LMAO. Yeah. For the 9 minutes that Chandler was in per game he made the other guy look like Chamberlain. I can't explain why he didn't play much. Team USA was having rebounding issues, and the two best rebounders (who rebounded very well in the tournament) averaged about 24 combined minutes. Go figure.

He played well when he was in. His stats per minute were better than what he put up to earn DPOY. Quite a bit better. I think you're way way off here.

I saw the same thing BPV saw I believe. Even when Chandler was in he was not a force in the paint on either side of the floor. ADavis was more of a force when he was in per my viewpoint. I saw him give little to no help on D and saw him struggle on the boards against inferior players for whatever reason.

The aggregate stats on all-star teams are skewed due to the level of play around you so you cannot go all moneyball and just look at numbers. Of course he shot a high percentage, all of his points were dunks from his teammates serving him up perfect lobs, etc...

Weird, that's how he shoots a ridiculously high % in the NBA, too.

Your eyes lie to you. Chandler averaged 11 rebounds per 30 minutes. Davis also averaged 11, yet you saw one of them as a force, and one of them as having struggled on the boards.

If we are gonna simply go to numbers, then considering Davis' age and experience with him keeping pace with Chandler is a problem for Chandler.

My eyes may have been lying to me, but I saw a lot more energy from the kid versus the titan that Chandler is billed to be.

Perkins can D up any center as good as anyone else in the league. That said, on O he is horrendous.

He's so good defensively that he was taken out of all meaningful minutes in the Finals.

Without question the most overrated player in the NBA.
He is completely inept offensively and a poor rebounder, his defense is good but nothing to write home about.

In no way, should he ever be on an Olympic team.

Watch more and stat less, then basic questions might not confuse you.

What exactly did Chandler do that made him so bad? Ask yourself this basic question.

The only answer you can give me that isn't defied by absolute fact is whether or not he was beat in one-on-one defensive matchups. He averaged the same stats that were the difference between the Maveriks being a championship team, and a first round loser. He averaged the same stats he put up to win DPOY.

BTW, I watch the games. The sport is very simple. Shoot well. Don't let the other team shoot well. Rebound well. Maximize possession margin. That's it. People get too caught up in who can be the most versatile scorer, etc. and miss the forest for the trees.
