Here are the answers... I double checked mine to be sure they are correct. Sadly I must admit, I could not name the current Chief Justice (didn't know who it was after Rhenquist died), didn't know very good dates on the Constitution, I thought Benjamin Franklin was one of the writers of the Fedralist Papers, and I couldn't name the President during WW1.

Congress is given the power to lay taxes in order to pay the debts and provide for the common Defense and general welfare of the United States. There are too many to list them all here...

This is a bit ambiguous, the 10th amendment gives all powers to the States that are not delegated to the Federal Government by the constitution, or prohibited from the States by the Constitution.

July 4th, 1776

The original thirteen colonies are...
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia.

The constitutional convention started on 5/25/1787. The final draft was ratified on 6/21/1788.

Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay

Had Fed papers right then changed to Jefferson.

I thought he was the Secretary of Defense... Did Condi get promoted when he left? How long ago did he leave? This is proof that I couldn't give **** about Bush and his administration.

Robert Gates is the current SecDef. Before him was Rumsfeld and prior to that was Willam Perry, the only Republican in the Clinton cabinet.

I'm pretty good with these. I can list off all of the amendments in order... Of course I took US History 2 years ago and am taking Gov right nowl.

I think they should throw in a trick question at the end like "why do some people claim the Constitution is an illegal document?"
