I don't care about the drama of his past, it is going to take a coach of his level to turn this program around. We keep signing these position coaches as coordinators & coordinators as head coaches, & it's just is not working for us. Just look at our last 4 head coaches. Pruitt is a D Coordinator that was hired as our HC, Bitch Jones at best is a position coach that was hired as our HC, Kiffin was a O Coordinator that was hired as our HC, & Dooley was at best a position coach that got hired as our HC. Now we have had some some good OC & DC Coordinators at UT in the past 10 years, but those coordinators perform their best under the Nick Saban's & those other elite coaches. Urban Meyer would skyrocket this team in just one year. Bring him on Fulmer!!!!!

I wish I was a rock star. Because I'm tired of standing in line to clubs I'll never get in, it's like the bottom of the ninth and I'm never gonna win. This life hasn't turned out quite the way I wanted it to be.

Good analogy.....the level of suck of our program and Nickelback are about even at this point.

Good coach. Lots of baggage and a flake to boot. Wouldn't stay long. Too tough a job for him. He likes weak conferences that he can dominate with a SEC like roster. He'll go to USC and dominate the PAC 12 garbage conference next. He's predictable anymore. Besides he might have a real heart attack here, instead of fabricating one to justify skipping out of town.

Not one iota of this post is true.

Some truth. He retired from Florida due to health issues. Resurfaced at OSU, then retired due to health issues. Looks like a pattern to me.

He's also engaged in questionable recruiting tactics. So yeah, some baggage as well.

Man, I’m a desperate person at this point but Meyer has some serious baggage. Fans didn’t want Schiano so why would they want Meyer?
At this point who cares. Our Administration ( President and AD) need to decide to make a commitment to fix the hell hole our football program has become or just shut it down. Forget " baggage "! Hire the coach that brings instant credibility, is a proven winner and that can turn this wreck around as fast as possible. We can't keep firing and hiring and saying " gotta give him 4 Years to get his players". All we are doing is making Bad coaches wealthy! If Fulmer wants to fix this thing fast, fire Goober ( Pruitt) and Throw a $100M ( $10M for 10 years) contract at Urban Meyer. We'll be competing for the SEC East in 2 years. Otherwise, watch Goober ball and continue to see players lined up wrong, no enthusiasm, poor play calling, and double digit losses. Just do it!

Why not, it's only money!

Is he willing to get back into coaching next year? Would he consider TN.? What would it take to get him here? Maybe it'll never happen, but why not try to do what TN doesn't do, and get ahead of the search for once?

I detest Urban Meyer, but not gauging his interest in our situation would be AD malfeasance.
