Urban Meyer vs. Lane Kiffin

I guess I'm not understanding why, when someone posts a message calling my coach a jerk and ahole, and I defend him in a VERY cordial and completely logical manner, that makes me a troll.

search back through there Skippy, I have called you a troll from day one

being a gator fan on our board = TROLL

I thought he did. Am I mistaken in that?

Richt said he instructed the eleven players on the field to take a penalty for excessive celebration. He stated he did not instruct nor condone the players coming off the bench to join the celebration. And he is a pretty honest guy so I take him at his word.

This phrase comes to mind regarding this thread:

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Waiting LG, waiting.

Oh, sorry.

Last year, we went up early and pretty much coasted. In fact, just checked, and we only scored 10 points the entire second half, to go from 20-6 to 30-6. So I would not call that running up the score.

In 2007, the score going into the 4th quarter was 35-20 and we substituted a lot of the younger guys in. Tebow played throughout because it was his first year as starter and I don't see a problem with that.

The "running up the score" card is way overplayed. There is nothing wrong with demolishing an opponent. I, for one, hope that is an accusation made against CLK many, many times during his tenure at UT.

This is a Tennessee message board and it is game day. No one wants to hear your Tebow lovin', jort wearing, Meyer suck up comments today. How hard is that to understand? Now will you please go away?

I haven't poked or prodded at all today. In fact, spent first minutes joking around with everyone on the "need advice" thread. Had a real good time, too.

Why you wanna harsh my mellow?

Just add me to your ignore list.

Urban Creyer has been lucky enough to have Tim Tebow at qb for 4 years. I am sure he will still have great qbs and great talent, but he will definately be hurt by the loss of Tebow.
I used to hate Alabama more than Florida, but I think Urban Creyer takes the meaning of prick to a whole new level though.

Because it's Florida game day, you are a jort wearing gator, I am pissed about last week, and ready to kick some gator ass. You being on here is "poking and prodding". Sorry, I just have gotten my Gator loving fill from ESPN this morning and don't need our resident troll to start of my game day morning. I did say will you "please" leave. Thanks in advance.

Not trying to break your balls here or anything but what the hell do you call the Western Kentucky game 2 weeks ago?

I agree that we were running it up on WKU, but we were using a lot of freshman to do it. I think it was more about getting the new guys positive reps because we will have to rely on them throughout the season. That said, I'm sure WKU doesn't see it that way.......

Cease with your poking. Prodding is ok, but poking is just too Gatorish for many of our tastes.

you are a sad sad man....it is pitiful that you get your indentity on our board.....if that is your defense, well, it speaks for itself

Not sure that someone who automatically characterizes as a troll any rival fan who posts on his board should be calling people sad, but whatever.

There is a difference between coming over here now and again to see what is going on and living here. Plus, game day is different. No one wants your crap today. Don't you have any Gator E-friends?

the "identity" issue is the sad part

I was just watching Gameday, and it's amazing how poor a sport and how egomaniacal Urban Meyer is.

I literally cannot believe how often he has run up scores for no reason. What a total jack***.

I really hope he goes to Notre Dame, he'd be perfect for them.

On the flip side, I hope that Lane Kiffin, once the wins start rolling, wont turn into the same type of guy. Respect your opponent.
Wouldn't you love to see UT lay 60 on Florida? It is funny how things are looked at based on what team you are pulling for :)

Id like to run the score up on anyone and everyone.. That is it... Score as many as you can... Never understood the reason for not doing it... Crush your opponent... Cant wait til we can do that...lol

As much as this will sound like blasphemy, I really don't care about Meyer running up the score on anybody, nor do I blame him for it. As long as the national championship game is determined by the BCS, a coach has to do everything in his power to give his team the best opportunity to play in it. Unfortunately, that may entail running up the score when you can.

We saw firsthand with Auburn in 2005 that going undefeated in the SEC may not be enough to get to the title game. Unfortunately, the system almost mandates that every coach run up the score when given the opportunity.

At some point, running up the score could hurt Florida like it did Alabama when Prothro got hurt.

That will not be the case for Florida, if they go undefeated.

Last year excluded.

Nice spin on 07' tho.
