Bruce Black says the relationship with Urban Meyer could play a factor in his son leaving.

"I would let Ahmad stay if they would show him some respect," Bruce Black said. "I don't think coach Urban Meyer respects my son. If he did, Ahmad would have started the first game (against Charleston Southern) instead of Will Hill. Coach Meyer favors certain players, and Ahmad isn't one of them

I'm not trying to back Urb, but if you've ever had a coaching job, you've probably heard this line from uppity parents way too many times to give it much credence. That is, until you learn more details.

Not that I've read the article, that's pretty funny. I like unrest in Gainesville. Also gotta laugh at how the father of one player is "advising" another player (not his son) on what to do.

Thanks airvol, that link is a sort of breath of fresh air. Interesting to hear a father call out another player and a good one at that in Will Hill.

Ahmad Black--declare for the NFL draft??? He's good, but may not get drafted. His dad's looking for some money.

Not a Meyer apologist, but if Bruce Black wants whats best for his son, he needs to shut up! If Meyer has favorites, their names are Tim Tebow, Tim Tebow, Tim Tebow, Tim Tebow and Tim Tebow, and last time I checked, none of those guys play defense!

There is another link off the same story about an LSU coach resigning and being investigated for paying a player!@!!!!!!! Why is not not getting the play we are? Oh, thats right I know. Lsu seems to be in more trouble than us considering they reported it to the SEC and the NCAA and made a coach resign!!!

This is fantastic for us.

Charlie Strong is leaving. Now tons of Floridas defense will be leaving also.

Meyer will be reloading with studs like Elam (who we seem to be a distant third for so we should pray he goes to FSU) and R Powell but losing Strong hurts and if this many players defect, it will make beating them next year seem much much easier.

His quote might as well read, "I'm pissed because Urban didn't respect tenure and put a more talented underclassman on the field."

We will hear this same gripe in the very near future about Kiff. I hate this phrase, but...

Book it.

I agree. Surprised we haven't heard it already. Heck, most here were ready to lynch him for not playing Stephens earlier in the year. Turns out that Houston Nutt was right when he said "Somedays coaches make too much money, other days they don't make near enough."

Florida plays 5 DBs half the time anyway, his kid was on the field more than off. It was more about Hill getting to start a game ahead of his kid than anything else. Sounds like sour grapes from a dad looking for his son to make him some money in the NFL.

Just about every school has some parents like this guy.

I say don't let the screen door hit ya where the good Lord split ya! :)

Just to put this into perspective, this guy has run his mouth before and nobody really listens to him. He believes Ahmad is god and the greatest player in UF history. I have a source who plays in the NFL that says if Ahmad were to leave early he would not even be drafted.

I do not suspect that Urban and UF fans give two hoots about what a disgruntled player or parent says; nor should they.
