Has anyone ever sat on the first row, Row 1, on the upper deck? Just wondering if its good view or does the railing obstruct the view? Thanks

Yes I have.

The view is great honestly.

I have been to Neyland a few times and the bottom of the upper deck is my favorite area.

I have sat a few times around the 45 yard line, lower bowl, close enough to have a conversation with the players (albeit shouting) and I gotta be honest....the people down there are old and suck. They never stand, they don't clap, the don't scream.

Best time the wife and I had was section LL at the Utah State game. How group was excited and actually yelled and cheered!

You will have a blast.

I have. The eye test is perfect. You get the best angle of the game there. I sat all over Neyland and when not in the corner but a couple sections over, the game comes alive. You hear the sounds from below but, you can see everything. I'll warn you watch out for the jar. It's a poison that roams around that neck of the woods!!!

I've sat in the first row of the upper deck at the Georgia Dome a couple of times and loved it. I'm sure Neyland's front row is even better

We sat in the first row of the upper deck last year against GA. Directly above the band. We had the best view of Hurd trucking that DB

I sat in front row once. The 2002 game vs Florida. The view was great. But it rained the entire game and the drains only move the water away so fast. So we had to put our feet up on the concrete wall.

But the slope of the upper deck gives you a great view no matter how far back.

Its important to know that in many of the upper deck sections, (for sure all the ones in both end zones, not certain about the sidelines) row 1 isn't actually on the front row. There are two rows of box seats, rows A and B, in front of you plus an aisle where people will be walking the whole game. Just something to consider that I hadn't seen mentioned yet.

Correction to my last post after a little further looking. The only sections where the box seats are Rows A and B are in the south end zone, sections GG through QQ. Everywhere else, row 1 should actually be the front row.
