Downtown is pretty nice im just saying its not one of the top 5 places to live in America. The suberbs of Memphis is pretty cool like Germantown, Collierville or over the state line like Olive Branch. Memphis has way to much crime.
i'll put it this way...i wouldn't move back if given the opiton. I grew up in Desoto County, and Olive Branch and Southaven are nothing like they were 20 years ago.

If i absolutely had to move back...i'd live way out East or i'd move further south in to MS.

having said that, Memphis has done a lot for itself in the past ten years revitalizing parts of downtown like peabody center, the baseball feild etc....it's nicer now than when i left, i'll give it that.

The only thing King Willie (Herenton) has gotten right.

I still can't believe a mayor would answer the following question the way he did:

Q: Mayor Herenton, what do you say to all of the people moving out of Memphis because of the high crime and high taxes?

A: Let 'em leave.

Herenton is the best thing to happen to Tipton, Fayette and Desoto counties (surrounding Memphis). I chose Fayette. :salute:

As for the OP:

2. The FedEx Forum is VERY nice.....for an NBA game. I really dislike it for a college atmosphere (or lack thereof).

6. Cooper has incredible touch around the basket but is weak on the defensive side. Opposite of the foul-out king himself, Dorsey.

7. Memphis pom squad is absolutely incredible.

10. Agreed on both locations, been to both but never been to Graceland......and don't care to. Not a surprising stat for Memphians believe it or not :good!:

some points;

3. NBA scouts are in love with Jamont Gordon.
4. They like Tyler Smith, too.

Too bad that either or both of these guys couldn't have ended up at Tennessee, because they both would probably fit well into Pearl's system. Jamont Gordon is a very, very good player. I haven't seen Tyler Smith play yet, but I've been reading that people are pretty impressed with what he's doing.

I live in the DARKEST city in America.

And by dark, I mean we were the first "Dark city" in America. We have Lowell Observatory here in Flagstaff (it discovered Pluto), so all street lights, signs, everything are very dim and a special kind of light. It's a dark dark city.

I remember being on a vacation there... Arizona is a nice vacation spot...
