Hire Blackburn now, go get Kiffin, Tee and Steele and the other boosters need to tell Haslam to sit the F down.

No, escort Haslam out of the building and completely off campus. Take away his keys and his checkbook. Let him stew in his own juices for the rest of the weekend, and let Phil make things happen and get things done.

I'm not sure about Phil and Kiffin, but I would be fine if it were Miles, Tee - OC - HC in waiting, and Steele as DC.

This is my first post. I’m not a troll. I just joined but have read posts for a long time as a guest. Has it not occurred to anyone the reason they reeled Currie back in from out west where he was talking to Mike Leach was.

1. He did it without authority?
2. When they found out it was obvious Mike was just working on getting himself a raise?
3. And this would be just one more coach who played us and embarrassed the university?

Get out of here with your virgin poster logic. Don't you know that absurd speculation is what keeps this site running?

Not with me. He did his duty - gave his All for Tennessee

This is why we have to beg for scraps like a Purdue and NC State coach with records in Power 5 conferences no better than Schiano. This "all for Tennessee" crap is echo chamber nonsense.

The optics on this all over the country are TERRIBLE. Again, who wants to walk in to a job (yes, that is what a football coaching position is, a job) with internal strife and infighting like this?

I don't want to believe Phil would stoop to this level, but if he did, he gave his ASS for Tennessee, and assess are all anyone around the country can see.

Leach would have been mediocre. I'm over mediocre and farming out Tennessee jobs when there are Tennessee people qualified and willing to take the position.

Bring back Tennessee to Tennessee!!!!

I think that what happened was that Currie was out of a job no matter what after the Schiano fiasco but they were allowing him to remain in place in order the hire the next HC in order to project at least an image (more like an illusion) of stability within the program. However, once it became clear that no HC in their right mind wanted to be a part of this dumpster fire, the decision to usher Currie out the door and start fresh was made and executed.

It still amazes me that these quasi-governmental employees make as much as they do ($5MM buyout!), are as arrogant as they are, and in many ways far more incompetent than their title and paycheck would suggest. Truly amazing indeed...

So how exactly does one sabotage hiring a coach in an effort to steal the athletic director's job? I mean I think this is kind of all just part of the Tennessee craziness right now. I mean let's be honest who would be shocked if an alien ship landed at the 50-yard line on Neyland Stadium today? But I would rather see Fulmer as the ad of the program. Let's be honest when it comes to hiring coaches for football, who knows more about selecting a good coach then a good coach?

Fulmer is all about friends and that will not select best coach.

Now that the slate has been wiped clean could this open the door for a Rick Hart/Chad Morris package deal? SMU seems to really care about basketball, too.

If not, we have an AD with SEC experience and a coach we will gladly send y'all. Hey, Rhoades was smart enough to hire Tom Herman while at UofH and Matt Fhule is pretty good on the recruiting trail.
