People are becoming luke warm towards the word and towards Christ.

No I am not Church of Christ nor do I know exactly who they are. I am one that reads and studies the bible. I am one that prays about knowledge and also one that makes mistakes and learns from them (sometimes not as quickly as I need too).

Hart doesn't want to give multi-year deals to assistants, nor should he (see Hamilton, Mike). But that essentially makes the DC a measure of the coaching community's confidence that DD can get it done at UT. A candidate would either need to be very confident in Dooley's abilities, or get some sort of 'security' that they wouldn't be left out to dry after a year.

Any difficulty getting a DC (if real) isn't because of Dave Hart. It's because of Derek Dooley.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying. Obviously if DD had done better to this point then we wouldn't be speculating on whether a potential DC views this as a secure position. My thing is, if you're Hart and you're going to give Dooley 2012 then be fully behind the guy. Don't do this weak "no long term deals for assistants" crap and therefore decrease Dooley's chance to succeed. If Hart is worried about having to pay buyouts after 2012 for long term deals then he should go ahead and fire Dooley now. If he is going to stick behind Dooley he should give him all the resources he needs to succeed, in this case a nice 3 year package for Randy Shannon (or whoever DD thinks is the best candidate).
