That's 2 days old...put zero stock in that.

Yeah that is interesting though, makes me think the press conference the next day might have been to announce this and something went wrong or is taking longer than expected.

What a kick in the nuts it would be if we hire Steele from Clemson, only to have them hire Shannon.

If anyone hires Shannon as a DC it needs to be UT. Hart needs to open the checkbook wide enough to make sure that happens.

I agree, if Shannon isn't hired, it CAN NOT be because Hart was bargain basement shopping.

Yes, it's only one game, but we can't afford to hire Steele simply because we can't afford the horrible publicity it would bring us. There's already a big perception that UT football is in a major downward spiral -- a hire like this would only further cement that idea in people's (namely, recruit's) minds.

But you can bet your ass that if Hamilton was still the AD he would be frothing at the mouth to hire Steele because he's damaged goods right now and could be inked in at a major discount!

Steele may be available at a bargain price tomorrow after Dabo fires him. Clemson has no defense.

Anybody follow Marcus Jackson on Twitter? Apparently, he tweeted that Shannon told him he would see him in a week....

He was trolling. He told everybody if they didn't stop asking him to call Randy Shannon, he'd just start making things up.

He followed with the tweet you mentioned, then something like "nah, im just messin"

I don't know why people are down on Justin Wilcox, I thought he did a great job considering what he had. They were almost starting from scratch. I also believe what Dooley said about them having built a solid foundation for the football program. I guess we'll see this coming year.:good!:

I don't understand it either. i thought he did a good job. And everything I've heard about him is what a great person he is...cordial, accommodating, and a workaholic. Like others mentioned, it's probably just bitterness over him leaving. I'm upset he's gone too, but I wish him and Sirmon nothing but the best.

Can we bring Neyland back. He was the DC of the century according to SI. The best Defensive mind of all time. I thought he has ties to the University. should be easy....

IF the offer has been made to Steele, it should be recinded....after all...turnabout is fair play. Didn't he accept the position here last year and then reject it later?
