Steele struggled at Baylor, but he stepped into a terrible situation. I think he is a great guy, a Tennessee guy and has a lot of pride. He can sell the program and has some deep connections in South Carolina and Georgia. He had none of those connections in Texas. I would be very happy if he ends up as our DC.

It seemed to me Randy Shannon did okay at turning around Miami, to a point. It seems to me RS would be a much better head coach replacement. But if he is good friends with Hart then, by all means, hire away.

Majors and Chizik kind of stunk at Iowa State and we all know what they did afterwards. Its Baylor.

Dude, discontent doesn't need to be sown. It is like the bamboo that Dooley referred to. It grew out of control after we lost to Kentucky. We have full grown bamboo of discontent. I don't have to do a thing to sow it. Dooley better get his hedge trimmers out and cut that **** down with an 8 or 9 win season.

Shannon has been spending time at Alabama, TCU, North Carolina, UNLV, Oregon, Iowa State and Minnesota, packing up for a week at a time to embed with those programs and soak up knowledge.

The visits had nothing to do with football -- he refused invitations to sit down in X's and O's meetings -- but rather were about learning how the organizations worked, from security to scheduling and anything in between.
