Sure does fit with all that has been said on here. Hart is a little more involved than I expected if this account is true. Steele and Hart are very familiar with each other and that is interesting if Hart doesn't care for his abilities.

His defenses were ranked in the top 7 in the country five out of his six years at Miami. They were 28th the other year

So does RS want to be a HC again or does he just want to be a DC lifer now? If it's the latter I'm ok with the hire. If he wants another go at HC I would have my concerns with him coming in. We don't need some one that will be looking around or even someone that would try to take advantage of CDDs vulnerability. I know he is a professional, and seems like a good guy but one never knows and we don't need added isssues.

Also is RS good enough, and capable of handling the def in the SEC with CDD being able to be more hands off and trust him? If our D doesn't get back up to par is it CCDs fault, RS fault, or Harts fault for making this his call? It does seem that Hart is somewhat confident in CDD, I'm sure they have some good conversations, and they are working together to stabilize our beloved program.

One last thing...everyone seems to be happy with RS as a DC hire, but if CDD gets the boot will we be happy with him as our HC? His tenure as HC at MIA wasn't that impressive. That's tough to do there. If you can't win big there then u may not be cut out to be a HC IMHO.

So if true and Shannon is hired, would he not have a say if CLT or CTJ stays or goes? I would think the DC would have full reign to choose his DL/LB/DB coaches. Maybe Shannon decides to coach LBs as well.

The last thing Hart wants to do is fire Dooley and do the whole job search thing. He is determined to make this work.
Doubt it. He has Kirby Smart in his back pocket, and I just saw on NFL.com where Lovie Smith had his GM and OC fired, and when the owner mentioned the HC status, he said that the new GM would have Lovie as the coach for 2012.
NFL.com news: Bears inform GM Angelo he will not return next season

Guess what? Lovie has a contract through 2013. What does that tell you? Tells me Lovie better be looking around for a landing zone. What's great about it for us is that Lovie has proven that he can win. He had them in the NFC title game last year and when Cutler was healthy, they were easily a playoff team.

So, on one hand, I hope Shannon is indeed hired, but I'd be even more stoked if Hart were to pull the plug on Dooley (whom he never hired) and swung for the fence (like Bama and Ark did) with L. Smith.

Lovie would have tons of NFL coaching ties and likely bring a handful with him = recruiting magnet.

One thread is plenty for the above stupidity. You do not need to put it in two places.
