Several weeks ago I asked fellow VolNation posters if anyone could help me contact John Ward. I was hoping to get an autographed photo for my father who was diagnosed with cancer last February. I would like to update what has happened since then. A certain VolNation member contacted Mr. Ward and he sent my dad two autographed photos and also a retrospective dvd of great Vol moments...autographed as well. I have posted pictures of the awesome package my dad received today. I dont want to mention the VolNation member by name...but he knows who he is and he knows how grateful my father and I are. I cant describe how touched my father was to open that envelope today. It really made him happy and he was as proud as could be. Thank you Mr. Ward....your kind gesture has meant more than you will ever know. You...and the VolNation member....are both class acts and examples of what true Vol fans are.

That's a great story, I remember when I was a young kid I got his autograph and I was so excited my hands were shaking haha!...He signed it John "Bottom" Ward and I still have it somewhere in my vast autograph collection...I am so happy that brought a big smile to your fathers face...Tell him to keep getting better and that I am confident he can beat it.

Sadly, they don't make them like John Ward anymore. Where's bill anderson these days?

Rex I've wondered the same thing. I asked on another board last week and no one knew. Hopefully he's healthy and enjoying retirement.

He and John Ward were UT football to me growing up.

Good for your dad. Anything to perk up his day is priceless I'm certain. God bless his efforts in battling cancer. I lost a mom and dad but both battled bravely. Just a matter of time and cancer will be a battle we can win at any stage.

That's the kind of thing that makes it great to be a Tennessee Vol. My prayers go out to you and your family.
