Truly amazed at the rationalizing going on here.

At the very least, he violated rules YET AGAIN. A scofflaw has the potential to drag every member of this team down.

So he should stay because he's a good DB? Cripes, with that kind of decision-making, I'm surprised you weren't trying to rob people at a gas station last night.

Numerous second chances? I'm aware of one other incident - that isnt' exactly numerous.

If he knew in advance they were going to rob someone, he should be gone. But it's certainly within the realm of possibility he didn't. People, especially people stupid enough to commit a felony, sometimes do things without a lot of forethought or premeditation; I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that neither Edwards nor Richardson has ever held anyone up before or they wouldn't have been on the team in the first place, so there's a very significant chance Janzen had no earthly idea what was going to transpire, until it was already transpiring, and at that point it was decidedly too late for him to do anything about it.

I would venture that a very high percentage of the posters on here calling for him to be dismissed, have themselves done something at least as stupid as drinking underage, or having pot, or whatever he did on the strip that got him the one-game suspension, at some point in their lives. If Janzen was in on the robbery, boot him; if he had no idea the other two were going to rob someone, it's beyond ludicrous to suggest he be punished for not being a mind-reader. You can talk all you want about hanging out with the wrong crowd - they were his freaking teammates, for Pete's sake. Who do you expect him to hang out with, the architecture majors? The science club? He's a freshman in college.

Wrong. You never keep a player on a team after an incident like this based on the performance of the team next year. He has had numerous second chances and he has failed after each one of them. Send him packing and bring on Myles, Waggner, or Dixon. Our secondary will be fine.

You'll notice that a UT fan brought up the same argument. I guess you'll need to ridicule them for responding as well to his ignorant assessments.

His argument at least had reasoning, yours didn't and completely missed the mark of what you were responding to.

I don't agree with his assessment, but whatever.

JJ, even if innocent of any involvement, needs to be suspended for the rest of the season... including a bowl game if we make one. This is for his rash of stupid decisions he has made that lead to, at best, being out at 2AM less than 50 hours before a huge away game. That isn't focused and that certainly isn't disciplined.

If he's guilty of involvement or had any knowledge of it kick him off the team.

Ma. Johnson had some brush-ups early on with his time here, and I don't think many people including players view him as a cancer... I think it is up to the coaching staff and the individual player to determine whether or not he will be a cancer or not... He seems like jackson goes about his business on the field and in practice with great effort and a strong work ethic, not saying that should be a factor in whether or not he stays, but it is a factor as to whether or not he is a "cancer" IMO....Either way, I think most will admit that if Jackson was not involved at all and did not know what was going on before the fact that he should not be kicked off the team, however, I also think most of us would agree that it is very unlikely that he simply "stumbled" upon the crime scene...He knew something, but this at lesat gives Kiffin a reason against kicking him off - making Jackson the absolute luckiest man in the world!!!!!

I'm sorry...but all 3 need to go. Jackson isn't innocent. Logic tells you that if you walk out of a convenience store and see 2 friends you're with holding up someone else with a gun (albeit a pellet gun) you absolutely do not get back in the car with them. How stupid could a young man be. Sad...sad story. Richardson and Edwards are in a world of trouble if this sticks. No doubt that those 2 are gone. I just can't see Jackson being totally innocent. I absolutely hate it, but he's gotta go as well.

Great point. They actually had the gun, two masks, and the weed and JJ didn't know anything about anything? Even Cuba Gooding, Jr knew that Ice Cube was up to no good.

How many people on here when seeing two people attempt to rob someone would jump in the car afterwards for a ride back to campus. I mean come on now, how stupid can he be.

One question so he has been released but is there an actual link that said charges are officially dropped, or is it just speculation still?
