Update on Janzen Jackson

FWIW:

IF we were talking about three gator freshman or three tide freshmen with the same senerio Volnation would think all three should be gone. JMO

you mean if the evidence came out that only 2 were involved? I wouldn't

he is innocent. if the glove dont fit you must acquit. im willing to overlook armed robbery for a national championship...hahahah JK to all the politically correct police mopeing around the site waiting to pounce!

When there is smoke, there is fire. Hubbs reporting charges looked to be dropped. I believe Hyams says that it looks like JJ wasn't involved. I really think JJ was wrong place, wrong time it seems

Not if one of them had no charges filed against them. A disturbing number of people on here either a) have no idea how the justice system works or b) don't care. I don't know what's worse.

I hope JJ is innocent and charges are dropped but the one thing that i question about JJ is that if he was not involved and he did not know that it was going to happen, then why would he get in the car and leave with someone that just robbed someone at the most popular store on the strip where there are tons of people to see you. Just that alone makes me think that he knew what was going on the whole time. I know i would not have got in the car. I would have stayed there and made sure the cops knew i was not involved. Any thoughts on this?

He probably panicked. I have no idea what I would have done in that situation.

Sounds to me like he was just trying to break it up and get those guys out of there. He probably didn't have time to think through all of the implications or consider how it might look. Jackson said: "We've got to go" when he returned from the store... to me that sounds like he caught them doing something he wasn't expecting. He may have even thought they wouldn't report it and no harm would come from it.

Seems he was trying to protect the other guys from their stupidity rather than being involved himself.

My thoughts (and I have run them through my mind to make sure it's not just because he knocks the hell out of WR's) is that if he bummed a ride to the store with these morons them he is guilty of being an effing idiot. If he didn't know about what was happening until he walked out of the store then suspend him for the remainder of the year. If he had ANY knowledge of this going down then he should be done as a Vol.

When I was in the military I had a squad leader named Sgt Strong (honest name), he had a unique look at how to keep Marines out of trouble. He would train us (ie, haze, run into the ground, etc) so hard that all we wanted by the end of the day was to not move.

I'm not sure why, but I always want to get the facts before coming to judgement.

I am impatient, but all 3 are innocent until proven guilty.

It sure seems like they are all 3 guilty of something, but I'm willing to wait a bit before I hang them.....

Then turn the entire TEAM loose on them for screwing things up.....after they do whatever time they deserve.

If he robbed or involved, yeah he should go! The self-righteous ones who want him suspended to need suck it because his prior incidents were handled and he paid his price ALREADY!!! Quit being birches and let the truth come out before you put him in hell since all of the hypocrites own their personal hell to put people in it. If JJ is guilty, get riddance! If JJ is innocent, he needs to be laying the BOOM on Ole Miss receivers Sat.!

Agreed.....IF, he was caught red handed, then no need to meet with him. If they are not sure, then you should look into and not bail on a huge time and money investment without the facts.

I don't know what you consider "red handed", but in our case the player was not arrested at the scene. He was arrested within a few hours of the incident, and if I recall there was some surveillance tape involved. However, I know that fact didn't come out until after Saban dismissed the player.

I think all three should be removed, its unfortunate but a statement must be made :(

So let me get this straight, you are going to ruin a kid's future even if he didn't do anything wrong in this situation just to make a statement? Hope you don't work in the legal field.

These guys will have enough too worry about with the legal system.

Lane's decision is not about the legal system. Its about what he wants for the VOL program. He's like the CEO of a company. He can choose who he wants to work for him. Its a privilage to be a vol, not a right.

B... But he got drunk last week.

...and wrong associations. JJ needs to budy up with a solid upper classmen like Berry or he needs to be assigned a solid teamate as an enforcer.

It was a mistake to mix the schollies with the rest of the student body. They, particularly the Frosh, need to be in a seperate dorm with upperclassmen, coaches and or staff watching them like a hawk. Sometimes just surviving the first year or two without even being given the opportunity to get in trouble is all that is required to ensure a solid and successful career.

I would like to know how everybody thinks that getting a ride with his TEAMMATES makes him an idiot.

I agree that he should not have been out after curfew but who hasn't broken curfew on a few occasions. I seriously doubt that he would have been in the car if he had been told up front that Nuke and Edwards were going to commit an armed robbery.

Some people are amazing in how quick they are to judge situations that they don't know the details of.

If Jackson's charges are dropped, I think you suspend him for the rest of the season. He didn't do anything wrong, so he shouldn't be kicked off the team. Yes, he has strikes against him, but if he wasn't involved and was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, he shouldn't pay for it by losing scholarship.

Or he was in the store listening for someone inside to call the cops and when he heard the store clerk call he walked out and said we have to go... If i walked out and saw my friends doing something like that i would not have just said lets go. I would have been yelling what in the F*** are you doing and stuff to that extent. I would not have been clam about it.

I mean come on people lets be real here. Everything points to JJ being guilty. You dont get in the car with someone that just robbed some people.

I'd say being out past 1:45, especially considering Jackson was already on thin ice, is doing something wrong.
