Update on Janzen Jackson

He was in trouble for a violation of team rules during fall camp. I don't know if they ever said what he did for sure but he got to spend a practice being ran ragged by Ausmus off to the side.

The team rules incident was a failed drug test.he was in trouble again in camp and had to run gushers. Top that with the bouncer incident, now add this robbery. I think he needs a PS3 or XBOX to take up his time and occupy his mind.

If JJ knew what was going on...He needs to be gone,If he bummed a ride to go get something at the store and these 2 went stupid and he tried to get them to come on thats a differnt story...A case could be made either way for JJ if he stays and is suspended or Goes....

I hope it all works out. Hopefully he didn't have any involvement and the latter is true.

I agree with this. It's possible they didn't inform him of what was going on and he was trying to get them to stop. I remember being in high school at a Walmart with a couple of guys that at the time were friends of mine. Turns out they were stealing a DVD player while there. I would have been in trouble with the law if they had been caught even though I had nothing to do with it.

Video should show if Janzen exited the vehicle or not. If video shows him walking up to Pilot or arriving at the Pilot in a different vehicle and then getting into the Prius, he might have a chance to get out of this. If he rode over there with them, I don't see how he can remain on the team.

If they based their charges on a surveillance video, I would think there is a VERY slim chance that JJ's charges get dropped based on the testimony of NR and ME.

If the cops made a charging decision on this without consulting the security video, then they are even dumber than I already thought.

Edwards and Nuke...gone...no question about it...

JJ...suspended indefinitely until the extent of his involvement is known...then either the remainder of the season if he was simply there or off the team if he had any and I mean any hand in the crime itself

Right. They had asked when was the other time he had gotten in trouble.

Here's the article on him running gushers. It doesn't say why he was in trouble so maybe it wasn't for violating team rules.

I figured everyone knew he violated team rules when he was suspended against Memphis since that was so recent.

if the charges are dropped then I think that it's obvious that the coaches want to keep him

If the charges are dropped, then I think it is obvious he had no part in the attempted armed robbery. I don't think that the coaches desire to have him on the team will factor in at all.

I would say that even if the charges are dropped, there is a reasonable chance that he may be gone. I see an indefinite suspension for at least the remainder of this season as the minimum punishment he is getting ready to be slapped with.

Chris Low is saying that JJ has failed multiple drug tests. Says if they keep him on he's the next LaMarcus Coker.

If the charges were dropped then he is innocent. If he is innocent he didnt do anything wrong. Wrong place wrong time sort of deal then...

I haven't saw the pilot tape of what happened so I in no way can prove this true. But I read on another forum that they pulled up JJ went into the bathroom and when he came out the robbery was taking place. Again I havent seen anything and cant promise that is true its just what someone else said.

I hope JJ is innocent and charges are dropped but the one thing that i question about JJ is that if he was not involved and he did not know that it was going to happen, then why would he get in the car and leave with someone that just robbed someone at the most popular store on the strip where there are tons of people to see you. Just that alone makes me think that he knew what was going on the whole time. I know i would not have got in the car. I would have stayed there and made sure the cops knew i was not involved. Any thoughts on this?

Yeah, it looks suspicious, but why would you boot a kid if he is innocent? If he did it or knew what was going to happen, then he has to go, but if not, you cant ditch him. So far, it looks like it is circumstantial for JJ, suspend him until the facts are out, but let him come back if he wasn't involved. So what if he made past mistakes. If he didn't make one this time, you let him play.

Im not sticking up for any of them. Im disappointed in all of them for letting CLK and UT down. Im just saying, learn the facts before you start taking away scholarships.

I am hearing around campus that he did just walk up on it, like what is being rumored. I have seen some football players, and they are noticeably not happy. FWIW, for some reason I am also hearing that Edwards and Nuke are already gone. Why this is weird is that they are still in custody and havnt seen CLK.

We had one of our guys popped for armed robbery a few months ago. I don't think Saban ever met with the kid, he just removed him from the team the same day it happened.

Jackson was in trouble with the coaches early in camp and was the one who was doing up downs and sprints all of practice one day and was seen throwing up because of it.

Strike 1

Whatever incident he was involved in last week, failed drug test, bar fight, who knows the truth?

Strike 2

This incident. You cant tell me he just was walking around and saw this happening and said lets go. Why would he get in the car with them? Thats just plain stupidity.

Strike 3

Okay, so I work with a girl who is aparently friends with the bouncer who was in the JJ rumors last week. She brought it up (how JJ hit him at New Amsterdam), and I told her that she was incorrect because that whole story was apparently fabricated.
So...she just texted him, "Is Janzen the one who hit you when you were at work"
He replied, "Yes. Edwards was there too, but Janzen was the one who hit me. I had to have dental work done, and I still have a bruise. His chain got ripped off in the fight, but I wouldn't give it back to him."
I added punctuation and fixed his spelling errors.

I guess now we all know how JJ got the 3grand necklace that the bouncer still has. Helps if you boost a little cash every now and then. Just working his way through college.

Send all 3 packing

Those guys are his teammates, and sadly, probably his buddies. It sounds like he walked up on his guys committing a robbery. I have never been in that situation - I have no idea what my first response would be.

Agreed.....IF, he was caught red handed, then no need to meet with him. If they are not sure, then you should look into and not bail on a huge time and money investment without the facts.

He was out at 2 am with drugs in the car a week after being suspended for a game. At best, he is still an idiot even if he had nothing to do with the robbery. Jackson looks like a stud but it would do more damage in the long run to set a precedent for tolerance of this crap.

If charges are dropped... JJ broke curfew. Someone he knew and might have been with had weed in their pocket. Not really the kind of thing that warrants an indefinite suspension.

Hubbs said he is hearing that the charges on Jackson may be dropped. No confirmation yet. I would bet money they JJ is still going to be on the team.

That's what I figured when I first read the details this morning. It sounded to me like the other two got a wild hair when they saw those people while JJ was in the store. It sounded like he tried to break the situation up when he got back.

He still has to face a violation of curfew but that will be minor by comparison.
