Until We Find A Mobile QB

TN does not run the read option, we run the zone read. Rbs read the zone to run in. Qbs have very few reads to run themselves, but mostly the qb reads are to quick screens to wr and to te over the middle.

This whole read option offense will not work. The defense crashes in and clogs the middle knowing that our Qb will never keep the ball and take off.

We're not running the read option, otherwise Worley would keep it once in awhile. We're running stupid offense.

The zone blocking doesn't work with this O line. They need to mix in some new blocking schemes.

Every offense is dependent on one thing - BLOCKING - If you can't block, it does not matter what offense you run. Our current scheme is a power running offense, but you have to block.

Worley has the option to run on very few plays.

Which makes the offense even dumber. We, essentially, run one running play, a dive, 90% of the time to RB in a stationary position. It's the stupidest offense I've ever seen.

CBJ believes in this system. He is not going to change. If we can stay in the same system and build strength and depth in online maybe it will work. But they have worked on this for 1 1/2 years. It is hard to accept, but our online talent is far below SEC levels.
Good news, We are developing new talent Robertson, Thomas, Wiesman, plus have a great class coming in.

This system will never work with the speed of the SEC.

If Worley started running more and gets hurt, Do you want to see Peterman at QB?

We saw how that worked last year and against GA. Like it or not, Worley is our best shot to win and you have to keep him healthy.

Then stop running a stupid offense predicated on a running QB. Only piss poor coaches find themselves unable to adjust their scheme to fit their personnel.

If the play design is always to give the RB the ball then line up in the I and run the play that way it's obv the "read" isn't fooling anybody. I'd like to see Jalen with a full head of steam hitting the holes instead of getting the ball flat footed. Oh yeah we need to create holes also.

I know one thing, no system works if you can't block. But it has worked for CBJ at other places. Not so much about speed, but about putting helmet on helmet and power running. Hurd is the perfect back for this system, but you have to block.

He's not playing against Rutgers and Eastern Michigan anymore. Who gives a crap if it worked in the MAC if it isn't working here?

What you fail to understand is this offense is not dependent on a running qb.
BTW Ever heard of the coach Vince Lombardi. He ran about four or five plays with the power sweep. Bill Walsh was a pretty good coach - West Coast offense.

Every coach adjusts their scheme, but you are talking about changing the scheme. Coach Fulmer changed his scheme and it got him fired.

Before anyone says it, CBJ is not in any danger of losing his job.

Those guys were light years beyond what we have and drafted the personnel to fit their scheme or adjusted. Speaking as a Packers fan, Lombardi was certainly adept at changing schemes when necessary. Fulmer got fired because the SEC got serious about getting good coaches and he had a losing record against every decent coach he faced. Had nothing to do with changing his offense.

Look, this isn't difficult. We have a mid-major level coach running our offense. Fortunately, there's an easy solution.
