Unofficial Coaching Search Thread

Recruiting is over.
No rush.
Forbes being at WSU doesn't help UT get Marshall, IMO.
Afraid UT will go on the cheap

Think Forbes won't give a favorable review?...if so...four words Wichita State job opening :whistling:

Absolutely. The next coach will get my support, hope Hart doesn't screw this up.

I don't think he will screw it up. The guy will do his best for UT. Everyone doubting CBJ and now most are head over heels for him.

He has the unenviable task of balancing money, expectations and desire to be at UT. That is sometimes difficult to do. The money is there, but as we saw with Brad Stephens and so far with Smart, sometimes they have goals and UT isn't one of them. So just because someone says no doesn't mean Hart is screwing something up.

Why in god's name would you be miserable? You guys were campaigning to have Martin fired less than a month ago. Now he's gone, you have your pick of several coaches and you don't have to pay his buyout.

UTK looks a little rad-faced because the fans basically drove away a coach that just went to the Sweet 16, but I'd say the job looks no worse than it did when you hired Cuonzo.

The Tennessee Head Basketball Coach is not the top job in the SEC, but after Kentucky, and Florida, it's hard to find a school in the SEC that has such a devoted fan base.

How many other programs in the SEC have a 23k seat arena, and a fan base that is just looking for a reason to want to fill it every game? I say the UT job is the third best job in the SEC.

All three run Motion offenses and Man-to-man help defense.

All three have proven track records. All three are leaders of men.

I like Crews, but he is a little long in the tooth at this point, and has only had success at the mid-major level, and that success was often hit or miss, especially at Evansville.

I hadn't heard Tim Miles wouldn't leave. He's also a Don Meyer disciple. Don Meyer is a badass. Anyone who studies Don Meyer goes to the top of my list.

Amaker at Michigan was a long, long time ago

I want Tennessee to at least interview:

USM's Donnie Tyndall
La Tech's Michael White
West Kentucky's Ray Harper(382-86 record)
Minnesota's Richard Pitino
UNM's Craig Neal

I know we have 0 chance of landing Shaka Smart, but the way our team is currently congifured seems like it would really fit his havoc defense. Richardson, Moore and the long armed Thompson would give teams absolute fits.

But whomever they get. Black white orange or purple. I pray the guy can recruit at least one or two shooters with at least quality ball handling skills. I'm tired of the 6'5 long armed shoots 25% from three and 55% from the line dribbling it off their foot to many times type of guys.
