That list is in no particular order. I'm at this point most intrigued by Ray Harper. His records at Kentucky Wesleyan,Oklahoma City and WKU are awesome.

Kind of sucks that Buzz Williams took the VT job. He would have been a great fit at UT, and it's a better gig than VT, as well.

He is not my first choice. If its between him and people like Tyndall I'll take him 100 out of 100.

After talking with a couple of sources this AM, I think things could move pretty quickly with UT's basketball search.

VCU Insider tweeted earlier today UT had reached out to Shaka Smart and that Smart had "ties to Tennessee" and that this was "plausible."

I have also heard that Dave Hart has past ties with Leonard Hamilton and that Hart likes Hamilton as a person and as a coach. Hamilton has some ties to Tennessee and the SEC.

Hamilton is doing a good job at FSU. Hart needs to interview him.

I think Ben Howland not getting a smell for a new job this past season may speek volumns...and he has put his name in the hat too many times..

Not much is going to happen until after signing day...

This. Reminds me of Bobby Knight having espn plug him for Georgia and Bama job a few years back. He was begging.

He's similar to Zo in a lot of ways IMO, and no not just race, before someone says it. If the goal here is to improve he's not your guy IMO.

Be very careful with the VCU rumors. Their fans destroyed the Marquette boards last month when someone starting floating rumors.

Smart has said again and again...he is happy where he is at. He is a different sort of guy. He is not just about the money. He is into BUILDING something. That is what wants to do at VCU. When he is done there, he will move to the NBA.

List of teams he has turned down:

Wake Forest
Marquette
UCLA
Maryland
Illinois
Minnesota
NC State
USC

UCLA threw $3.0MM at him last year. He said no.
