I'm moving some materials around at my condo and found my Bay Area notes. Here's a list of 10 of my favorite restaurants. This list is certainly not exhaustive. A list of every good restaurant in San Francisco and Alameda Counties would overload the site's capacity.
1. Big Nate's Barbecue.
2. Tadich Grill.
3. Sam's Grill.
4. Zeke's Sports Bar & Grill.
5. Cafe Tiramisu.
6. Eagle Cafe.
7. Osaka Grill.
8. Kabuto Sushi.
9. Gary Danko.
10. Pizza Orgasmica.

Thanks for the list - I'll be sure to check out atleast a few of these.

Pizza Orgasmica is probably not a place to take the kids. You'll spend way too much time answering "Daddy, what's a ...?" questions.

I checked out its website. Looks strong.

Also, I saw Eagle Cafe online and it looks like a chill place to put on the intinerary.

I love to go to the Eagle for breakfast the first morning I'm in the Bay. Since my body is still on Eastern time, I get there about 6 and eat with the fishermen. It's really old school.

Goat's Head Pizza has good pie for those who might find Pizza Orgasmica objectionable.

Somewhere else to try is Lou's Blues Club at Pier 47 in Fisherman's Wharf. It's a great blues bar.

For some of the more adventurous travelers, The Slanted Door (Vietnamese food) gets absolutely rave reviews (if you can still get a reservation). I have not yet had a chance to go there myself, but I hope to the next time I'm up there.
