Unload the Bank

I think Justin Fuentes is the guy. Give him a massive contract and we’d get him from va tech. He’ll never get the caliber of players necessary to complete for a natty at va tech.

A Meyer or Saban type is never coming.

You would have to unload the bank and try to get a Patterson/Peterson type........and they ain’t coming. So then you would have to unload the bank just to “try” and get a top 20-25 type coach.

Most likely before they way over paid for a top 25 type guy (rather than a top 5-10 guy) they would settle for San Juan ST coach who just went 9-3 and hope for the best.

Said all of that to say........Pruitt is prob here for a while.

A&M gave Jimbo 75 million over 10 years.

UT needs to find the right coach and do the same.

Texas A&M is a lot more attractive job in this day and age, as sad as that is to admit. They sit on the most fertile of recruiting land, they don't have Shakespearian tragedy of an administration behind them, just waiting for the opportunity to stab you in the back. There is no quick fix for this. I'm very disturbed by what I saw today though, the Vols had no fight at all, in the first game of the season, with momentum on the recruiting trail, it's really appalling what happened, and I didn't think I could be appalled by this program anymore. I am starting to think Pruitt is like Stannis Baratheon from GOT. He inspires no love or loyalty, the players dang sure don't seem like they want to play hard for him, and at the end of the day, that's more important than x's and o's and more and important than recruiting.

Wish they had hired the pirate. He was definitely on board.

I always thought from a marketing standpoint he was a win win. I mean the first year there would have been 1 million orange and white pirate flags sold. And just this morning one would have been sold to replace the one that burnt in the boat fire.

Money doesn't work at UT. Facilities, top assistant pay and more money spent on recruiting year in and year out than anyone else and where does that have us? At the bottom of the barrell.

Money is used at UT to buy everything top of the line except for a coach. Too many old hands still think it is 1980 and averaging 8 wins a year will keep Neyland full.

Give Patterson, Leach, or Petersen a large contract and try to make them say no.

If you really want me to quit liking and disassociate from Tennessee football, then hire urban. I'd rather shut the thing down. I'm 100% serious.

Same here.

He’s a terrible excuse for a person and whatever dignity we have left, it’ll be gone.

Might as well just shut the damn football program down and be done with it.

Leech would have been a great hire. Media would have loved him and he would have been distinctive from all other SEC coaches. He would have been a great contrast to Saban. But he was a casualty of the administration wars and Fulmers drive to the AD.
