We are never going to find out about how he could have done as a coordinator because he didn't have a full compliment of players. Of course this hurts (as does losing Sirmon), but I think we can upgrade here it's going to take some dynamic maneuvering by Hart and Dooley!

We do know that his players couldn't tackle very well.

The same could be said of any UT defensive unit of the past 25 years. We've had some individual, outstanding tacklers, but as a whole, our defense has struggled with consistent tackling for as long as I can remember.

Mid to late 90's was a solid group. Chavis did well at first and then gave up the big plays on third down earning the nickname "third and Chavis"

98 is definitely the exception to this......Speed, Form, Strength...and depth....Shut down people galore and everybody on that team knew the weaknesses and strengths of the other players with Chemistry......

True that he didnt have a full compliment of extremely gifted recruits, but it did not seem the one's that he did have got any better under his coaching. JMO
