to get Meyer or Freeze, we need to stay with Pruitt. Our kids played our asses off yesterday against one of the best teams in the country with a great SR QB and perhaps the best OL in the nation that includes four seniors. We are building and basically playing with a jv team, and also have been stuck with a lame duck QB. Bailey will begin lighting up next year, we will be a year older and more mature and we have a very talented class coming in. And oh yeah we played a pretty damn touch schedule and per norm the SEC did is no favors scheduling wise. So unless we are going to hit the home run with Meyer, or to a lessor extent with Freeze, I will back Pruitt because although I’m frustrated and tired of waiting to get back to the SEC level talent and depth wise, as well as flat out maturity wise, I do understand that it was Jones who demolished the program and Pruitt has tried to clean it up by building a solid foundation which he is doing

Like what HB and Shrout are doing to try to win the job. Pruitt's stubborn refusal to see how truly limited and damaging JG was amounts to coaching malpractice.

But perhaps even worse is the D. Pruitt's claim to fame was that he's a supposed defensive guru. He was supposed to be a great recruiter. The D doesn't reflect either. He's had 3 shots to load up with DL's... and he'll have a big problem next fall after Jones' guys are gone. The scheme itself... just doesn't work.

No, since Pruitt sabotaged this season with the QB situation, what act of sabotage will he pull next season? And we do not play the level of defense to be competitive in the SEC.

Time to find a coach who can develop these kids.

We are playing freshman and sophomores on defense against UGA, Bama, Auburn, UF, A&M. Not many coaches at all could have won against that but we were much more competitive.

As far as Bailey goes he has no spring practice. Simple as that. And now he has four years still left. Things will improve a great deal next year. And we will be very competitive in the bowl game with basically a jv aged team

Keeping your hand in the fire because Miss America isn't there to put it out is akin to keeping Pruitt because we can't get Meyer.
No, I get his point. Pruitt is a good football coach, especially d coordinator. There’s is no one worth going after unless it’s Freeze, Stoops, or Meyer. Those aren’t happening, so we’d be better off supporting our team, coaches, players, then making them miserable.

Love these break the bank type threads. As if we're going cheap on salaries. Just paid a guy something like 1.3 mil per win this year. Look, Meyer isn't coming to UT. Any fool knows that. As for Freeze, you really think it would take Meyer type money to hire him? Hell, we could pay him what he's making at Liberty and I suspect he'd still take the job.

I had faith in Pruitt until this guaranturnover mess. I've Never seen anyone so blind and I do think if either one of the 2 played all season our record would be a little better. But also the defense is absolutely terrible and no leadership which goes back to Jarrett. Hes been a cancer since he walked on campus. But unless they go after malzahn(freeze and meyer I think is just pipedream) were better off hoping he figures it out, which I dont think happens. But I really do wish he would bring gus here. I think he would be a rick barnes hire that could bring stability and actually a decent product on the field

Yesterday we started the QB everyone's been clamoring for. We generated 213 yards. By my count we had Jrs and Srs all over the field.

A&M beat us worse that they beat Vandy, Miss St, Ark and everyone else in their schedule except SC.

They're a fine team but there nowhere close to Bama or Clemson's league and what we saw yesterday is inexcusable for a coach in his 3rd season.

The longer we wait the worse it will be.

Freeze would crawl on razor blades to take the job. Not going to happen bc our AD thinks we’re a proud national powerhouse. In reality we’re a National joke. You know those sayings “at least we’re not _____?” well we’re in that blank for most people now. There’s no we’ll get em next year bc people have lost hope in the incompetent morons running things.

Pruitt has lost 13 games by 21 or more points in 3 years, he lost 7 games this year by double digits. Butch lost 6 games by 21 or more in 4 years. Tell me again how competitive we were again?
