either pony up and hire a big name coach that's a proven winner or just admit that basketball is just not that much of a priority. don't need keep telling us that these small school coaches are the next john wooden or dean smith.

Yeah the smart move is to keep taking chances on unproven guys so we will have to fire them after three years and keep paying buyouts. Fan apathy grows which means less money coming in, increasing the problem. Sorry, but this administration is short sighted, and does not have the competitiveness and business acumen of other ADs around the country.

Here's the problem, as long as Bruce Pearl is alive and coaching, people in Tennessee are always gonna want him. It's not that hard to understand.

What is sad is I truly believe there is a segment of the fanbase who would rather have Pearl even if he became a slightly above .500 coach than have anyone else period.

I'm not saying it's the majority or anything but I'm convinced they exist. They are the ones who wore the stupid t-shirts at the AU game in January.
