Play to our strengths, get in a rhythm.

But we really need to be less predictable in all our play-calling. Late in the MSU game we kept running for short gains on both 1st and 2nd down, giving us only one down to throw the ball on 3rd when the whole world knew we were throwing then and how many yds we had to get.

Our offense and our QB are better when we have balance. Your not not gonna "fling" it past Bama, USCe, and UFs Ds (consistently) without making them honor your running game. And even then its not easy. Our great WRs have to beat some pretty good DBs even then.

Our best production this year came when we were able to run it and throw it together. Thats pretty obvious to see.

Don't always run first to set up the play-action. Try play-action pass before they have ever stuffed a run. Then next time they see the formation, they really won't know for sure which ...

We have just been getting too predictable in our mix of run/pass.

Guys, I hate to break this to you but just in case you hadn't noticed, we're a better running team than we are passing. I'm not saying we dont have better passing weapons and potential...it just ain't working yet...

We are consistently scoring over 30 points on some of the top SEC defenses, so our offense isn't the problem. It's the defense that's killing us!

Exactly what Alabama hopes we do. Bray will have 4 int by the half if he is "unleashed". And our defense won't be able to stand up.

If anything Bray needs to be reined in. Where has that quick slant been of late? How about the TE 6-8 yards out? The RB screens? These simple, easy throws add up. These things keep a defense honest. Launching the deep routes all day just lead to what we run into every week. I get that Bray wants the stat sheet looking like 20/36 435 4TD's. The problem is the 3 INT's and or not getting other guys involved that hurt this team. How has DY or RN not caught 25 screens this year as some LB is trying to cover them out of the backfield? The play where Rogers caught the crossing route for the TD when he got lit up earlier in the year. Where has that been? Sure it's great to see Hunter and CP going up for jump balls 40 yards downfield. The problem is for every one that works, 3-4 do not.

Unleash Bray, well Alabama may not give much time to for Bray to throw accurately. I hope I'm wrong but Alabama has a pretty good Front....I don't see us beating Alabama with the big play, we've got to be balanced to some degree. I'd love to see us recruit some big strong SEC quality RB's like Ala, Florida, Ga, SC. I don't think Alabama will give much thought to our running game and will challenge Bray to throw and bring allot of pressure. I do hope it's an old fashioned Ala vs Tenn game and not a blow out....but odds makes are betting on the latter.

we dont have a good enough running game to play with bama, i dont think we should give up the running game but the only chance we got is if bray can make some hail marry type plays down field. were not gonna dominate bama on the line of scrimmage.

If we ran the ball more against MTSU we would have won. Our line was winning the battle every play and could have given our defense a rest. Good coaches go with what is working until the opposing team stops it. We chose to go the route you are speaking of, hence the result.

We need long sustained drives to keep our pitiful defense off the field as much as possible. Usually that is accomplished with a solid run game which we have.

You do know Neal is out VS Bama right? Take away our leading rusher and I am not so sure the run game will be able to do much VS Bama.

I'm not expecting us to beat Bama weather Neal plays or not. Our O line is opening holes though so as long as the RB hits the right hole we should be decent enough to keep the chains moving.

I think the run game will hinge on CJC and if he sticks with it or does his usual thing and gets pass happy. I think if Tyler would throw a few more shorter routes, screens, and check downs, the run game would open up more as well. Most defenses we face have to watch for the run and the 45 yard fade. Do those 2 things, and UT's offense seems to become very ordinary.

If you ask Cheney what we do on 3@2 he will say throw a bomb; however, if its 3@12 he will run a draw lol
