The guy at the dirt track who has all kinds of money but insists on working on his own car even though he knows nothing about cars and every race has a similar story of “I could have won it but *insert random part* broke”.

No, the University of Tennessee and its football team have been hijacked - hopefully temporarily - by a small faction of snowflake fans who wouldn't know a good coaching hire if it hit them in their sniffling noses. Currie made the right hire and the snowflakes melted and had a temper tantrum. They need to go back to their safe places and let's see if UT can make a decent hire at all now that the snowflakes have made a laughing stock of our school.

well you dont leave any mystery as to the type of person you are. these "snowflakes" you mention are the reason we dont have a pedo enabling crap coach currently. but sure, go ahead and blame the fans for not accepting such a terrible hire, instead of blaming the asshats in charge for making such a horrible selection to begin with. if they were doing their damn jobs, the fans would not of had to revolt the way they did

Shut up Greg. You are terrible without Ray Rice.

Made the right hire? Other fans don't know anything about hires but you seem to know what a good hire looks like so please enlighten us

I know it's like a broken record, but Tennessee has to open the checkbook to fix the program. ESPECIALLY now.

Tennessee is like Auburn with Lowder in charge, except Haslam isn't as good at making hires and staying hidden.

Actual snowflakes rarely accomplish anything.

The past Sunday, the fans won.

what did we win? A lame duck AD...a toxic coaching job? I hate the GS hire just as much as anyone...unfortunately, we don't have competent people in place to make the right hires. Currie is incompetent, Davenport is incompetent, and JH is a world class fu(kup. Just because you have money, does not mean that you are smart or intelligent.

may need to overpay.

but what available coach is worth it? thats the issue i see. we could hire a kiffin, leach, norvell, etc...and may even overpay, but overpaying for that level of coaches, still isnt going to be "opening up the checkbook" for a school like UT. in reality there just arent big time coaches available

That's easy - Greg Schiano is not our head coach.

Don't get me wrong, we're still losing the war, but dad gummit, it's something.

Look...I don't know if Schiano knew about any assult at Penn State or not. Nor does anyone else that wasn't involved in the day to day operations at Penn State during that time period. What I do know is that a 1 game over .500 coach from the Big East, and a shi*tty NFL coach who's players disliked very much was not the right hire for this program. Schiano was a horrible choice. He would have been worse than the last Big East coach we hired, the failure known as Butch Jones. Talk about Rutgers and his amazing accomplishments going 8-4 and 9-3 in an extremely weak conference all you want to. We've already been down that exact road the last 5 years. This isn't the Big East and this isn't Rutgers.

If he is such a great head coach, why does no one else want him?

Opening it more than we typically do. It's relative I guess

It’s jot about knowing who is and isn’t a good coach, it’s about power and control. Haslam knows Gruden would be a good coach, but it wasn’t his idea and he wasn’t the one to put the deal together so he wouldn’t get to take all the credit. So he goes out and sneaks around his puppets trying to turn UT into a training ground for coaches he wants at the browns but needs them to show they’ve changed and gotten better since their last failures. He also will now continue to ignore the fans as the other boosters have a hand in mentioning every other decent option and will continue to go after old options and unknowns just so he can say that he was the one to bring in the coach. He don’t care about them failing, he just wants to say I did it, and the rest had nothing to do with it.
