Seems like the areas with the worst education, income, health etc are all republican controlled. Some of them also have some of the worst crime per capital. Hmmm

Hmmm, I wonder what percentage of these places you are referencing have the highest number of minorities?

Possible compromise on the statues:

Keep 'em, but put an additional large bronze plate saying "LOSER"

Im not sure you know many kids from this new generation.

Unfortunately I have seen enough of them. Think about it ape. I meam these young people tpday needed a day off from college when Trump was elected. Universities had to institute "safe spaces" because of students weak emotional state. This generation of young people is ushering in a new wave of progressive idiocy that is beyond idiotic. Everything offends someone now. Its the cool thing. Its a breed of weakness.

Not the same things. WWII Vets fought for freedom and the US.

Confederate soldiers were traitors who murdered real Americans and fought for oppression and white supremacy.

Those statues are ahistorical. Not history. They have a bunch of revisionist lies on them and they were all erected decades after the war as monuments to white supremacy.

Learn some real history.

Southern states lead the way in bad things to be first in.

Tennessee and Florida are the only states in the south (and of the few in the country) to not have state income tax. What a couple of ****holes those places are.

The south has the most beautiful women. If you don’t think so, you’re blind or gay. No way around that.

Weather?

The south espouses some of the richest, most eclectic traditions in the country. From the football, to the food, all the way to our accents and manners.

The economy of the south is and has been strong for years. How many people visit Vermont for vacation? Yeah, didn’t think so. I hear Maine grows cotton on par with that of Egypt, though.

Collectively, “the south” is the most populous region in the country. I wonder why? Don’t believe me? Look it up.

If the south is so bad, why in the hell do you live in the heart of the mid-south? Surely you can be a logger out west, a place more aligned with your politics, yes?

There is a huge difference between actual historical fact and the Lost Cause nonsense prevalent on this board.

I can respect Farrakhan because he lets you know exactly who he is. I've never fully understood why people have such an issue with those who let you know. Sure, I've thrown his name in discussions as a counter argument but, It's only for arguments sake. He certainly isn't someone who deserves my outrage.

Well, he is a RACIST. But you will not hear many Leftists condemning him. But those same Leftists commit acts of violence in order to remove inanimate objects that do not speak and do not move, because they say they are Racist.

How is the New South trying to alter history?
It's "Lost Cause" Ideology.

"When describing the Lost Cause, historians have employed the terms "myth," "cult," "civil religion," "Confederate tradition," and "celebration" to explain this southern phenomenon. Many of these terms are used interchangeably, but they all refer to a conservative movement in the postwar South that was steeped in the agrarian traditions of the Old South and that complicated efforts to create a "New South." For diehard believers in the Lost Cause, the term New South was repugnant and implied that there was something wrong with the values and traditions of the antebellum past. For individuals devoted to the idea of the Lost Cause, the Old South still served as a model for race relations (blacks should be deferential to whites as under slavery), gender roles (women should be deferential to their fathers, brothers, and husbands), and class interactions (poor whites should defer to wealthier whites). Moreover, individuals believed that the Confederacy, which sought to preserve the southern way of life, should be respected and its heroes, as well as its heroines, should be revered. Indeed, white southerners, for whom the Lost Cause was sacred, argued that the members of the Confederate generation fought for a just cause—states' rights—and were to be honored for their sacrifices in defense of constitutional principle."

Yeah, you are one to speak on race, after posting a Confederate anthem and other Confederate sympathies.

This is a very fancy mischaracterization of what being southern means.
