Ditto. It looked nice, nice setting. Did you hear the train whistle while they were piping in the music. The music sounded more like static than the actual noice they'll hear in Neyland--not the same thing.

:eek:lol: In all seriousness they do look rather slow on offense. Best play was the WR going up and snagging the pass in the end zone. Other than that it was a lot of slow developing zone reads by the QB. I would venture to say this video could be of use to our coaching staff and am surprised they let it be taped.

I'm anxious to see Wilcox's swarming D. I just don't think they have seen the speed that they're going to see Saturday or the athleticism. Don't know how they're going to keep up with our receivers either. Da'Rick & Hunter will have a good day.

Damn that train

My daughter goes to Montana and we stay at a motel across the river from campus when we're in town. That train is directly behind our motel and comes through every morning at around 4 am. Unless you stay west of town there's no escaping that train.

It's a trap.

They're trying to make us let our guard down. When the coaching staff see this video, they'll take the rest of the week off.

I was thinking the same thing...Alphagrizz probably leaked this propaganda as counter-intelligence just to throw us off.

I still can't believe that he believes that. That is sad.

I'm not the one that said it. I simply posted quotes of others that did. Not one person here came up with scientific proof to counter ESPN's decimal readings. Worse yet people that did comment would pick one quote and conveniently ignore the other 5-6 items. Sort of funny if you ask me.

As for the flyfishing dude (KCVol), his credibility was gone when he said you can hear people whispering in WaGriz. I've been in over 20+ stadiums in the country (including Neyland), and its loud ON THE FIELD. Unless anyone here has been on the field & can disprove it...then really you have no business commenting on it. WaGriz is as loud as stadiums much bigger...believe it or not.

Then too its a matter of opinion...and we all have them.

never said your stadium wasn't loud..... it's one of the loudest 25,000 seat stadiums I've been in. But compared to Neyland, Ben Hill, Jordan Hare, Tiger Stadium..... all stadiums I have been in...... I'm sorry, there is no comparison, stadiums 4X larger are louder, much louder.

That's my experience, I have no reason to lie.

My daughter, a student at Montana who has been to games in Neyland is in full agreement.

My wife, a Kansas University grad who has attended games in both venues, is also in full agreement.

Sorry to hurt your feelings...... it's the way we see it having experienced games in both venues.

And yes, we had no problem carrying on normal conversations in Washington-Grizzly

And yes, I do like to flyfish when we're in Montana....my favorite stream is Rock Creek. Yours?

Going back and reading many of your posts I believe I would be on firm ground by saying I have quite a few years on you. Take it from me..... this stuff really isn't that important and there's no reason to get so emotional over differences of opinions. These boards are about sharing opinions..... take the posts for what they are..... and move on.

I grew up on Rock Creek, even before it was catch and release. Not been on it since my Dad passed away. I remember as a kid he would send me down the river, and I'd get excited as I'd catch 4-5 fish, he'd follow and double what I did. Even then we threw most back. The upper Blackfoot is sort of pristine, and not known as much but it once had some great areas up between Lincoln and Ovando. Also Big Hole of course, we used to go down there to do some artic grayling fishing. Those were our main streams to fly fish on.

My father actually grew up in Massachusetts (even fished with Ted Williams as they were neighbors on one of the lakes/reservoirs) there. He grew up mainly lake fishing for things like bass/pike. My parents decided to move to Montana literally for the fishing & hunting, and have/raise their family there.

btw - I've had normal conversations in Neyland too, but I keep talking about on the field not in the stands. And its the players and coaches that say it, they know more than either you, your family or I do. And its dozens of people, many names I shared in the earlier posts.

Probably not as many as you might think. I could easily have a daughter in college if I had one, and could've 10 years ago...lol. I myself posted something about opinions last night. We all have them.

Was at that scrimmage. Just a few observations :

1. Our top 2 runningbacks didn't play. Left them out to avoid injury. Moore, our FB turned RB got alot of the snaps along with our 4th+ stringers.

2. Worried at QB. Johnson, who I believe was in the video, is not fully recooped and didn't look that good. Slow in his progressions. He did have some flashes that will likely get him the nod though. Kemp will get PT too but doesn't have the ability to throw down field accurately.

3. Our D won that scrimmage hands down. Partly because they know what to expect partly because they are more talented

4. Punting game will be ok. Our guys have strong legs but haven't shown to be as good in situational punting situations.

5. As a coach, your coach won't see anything from that video that will help them prepare. They already know the type of offense we run and many of our starters were held out from the scrimmage.

I've got season tickets and I have to say I think they'd give us a good game. But then again, I have UTC season tickets.

I love it. These Montana threads have been so entertaining. I hope our Montana friends stick around after this weekend.....they have been a source of laughter for weeks.

nice try with the crowd noise, but I can still hear the whistle so it isn't anywhere close.

Yes. Its very common to rest your starters during the week before the opener, especially for running backs. Almost every program does this. You give them a few reps and then you make them sit.

I really hope that the starters WERE out. Because what I saw in that video was lack of team speed and (even more important) team energy.
