I heard through the grapevine Tennessee will wear Nike uniforms this week.

If Butch doesn't announce an addition to what Tennessee will be wearing via a fashion show or some other official press release through the university, it is BS. If the only place you have seen it is a 247 board, you are wasting time telling it because Lane Kiffin don't work here no more.

Ever since the Kiffin black jersey thing, every year there is a rumor about uniforms before this game and they've never been true.

In 2011 Basilio swore that we were going to wear orange helmets before the SC game, never happened. The last 3 years the rumor has been all orange vs all black, and hasn't happened.

At best we'll wear orange pants but it's probably going to be the same ol stormtrooper.

Heard this same rumor last time we played in Columbia. Didn't happen then. Not saying I wouldn't like to see it. But this is rumor that has a life of it's own every two years.

Orange pants are not coming back, Vols will wear storm troopers as usual. You can hardly expect this coaching staff to surprise the fanbase with anything.

Well, it is Halloween season. I like the idea. As i recall, we beat them here on Halloween.

Please! Someone tell me when and why uniforms have become such a big thing in football? Is fashion so important in the life of people that it now has import on the way we play games?

Who cares what the Vols wear? They need to just Win the Game. Fans that worry about making a "fashion statement" have no life.

It has no impact on the way we play, but sports is an industry, a large one at that. When fans see uniforms on TV, it's a part of the entertainment value. Also, if we were to wear a particular uniform combo, and a fan sees a jersey and likes it, that's merchandise sales as well. It's more than just not having an impact on the game. It's to entertain, sell, etc.

Spot on. But it is too late, the uniform haters have arrived to complain about uniforms in a thread about discussing uniform options.

this should have happened for the halloween game here during kiffin's year. as long as this game will be played during the halloween weekend, all orange and all black should be worn. it just makes too much sense.
